Finally I got a K&N 57i induction Kit! Immediately after I got it installed I noticed a huge improvement overall. It revs up quicker and the power has greatly increased! I believe that my extremely dirty and ruined original filter has to do with the difference I feel, but I love this kit...

Hey! I got the same problem! I had it checked once, since one part seems to be mended somehow. I wanted that piece replaced but I was told that it was not possible. It would be nice if someone has any info about this.

I've been thinking about this too. I got my rear brake pad warning last week and noticed the discs need to be changed too. I'm planning to keep the original calipers and get better performance discs and pads. I understand that the 8l A3 has the same rear brakes as the 2003 tt, so I found these...

Thanks Nynex! Now that I know that the needles are supposed to come out straight up I would try it again next weekend (I have to fix a coolant leak that I found yesterday first). I'll let you guys know how it goes...

The front looks pretty much the same... (I forgot to take a picture of it) I'm not sure if some of the plastic clips need to be removed. Some of these are holding the needle "coils" (see red squares on pic below). But honestly what really stopped me were the needles themselves!!!

OK... a complete failure for me this weekend. And it's not because the fix didn't work...it's because the layout of the back of the gauges is completely different from the manual posted here!!! So I panicked, put everything together and left it as it was... I couldn't even take the needles out...
