One should always remember that a less than honest Rolling Road operator can do various things to manipulate the results. You really need an independent RR with no interest in tuning the car you are driving.
Why didnt you go back to MTM to ask for a new map?
My concern about where you are at is the ability of the DSG to handle the power. Yes they now offer DSG/Stronic on the S3, but my guess is that it has been upgraded. When DSG first came out there were lots of concerns about too much torque...
I think the issue here is that 15% is possible on the old shape S3 and Audi UK is giving extra discount/support on these run out cars. There are very few new shape 3 doors in country, but a number of old shape and dealers are keen to clear the decks
Interesting thread.
Ive been looking at something to drive until the new S4 is released, therefore Ive been looking at S3 prices.
Brand new 10% is easy to achieve and if you are looking at the old shape 15% is easy as there is extra support from Audi on them.
Al´s car is overpriced...
But have you driven a few thousand miles in new std Sportback to see if there is a big difference. Bear in mind you have a facelifted car and someone could come on here that owned an old shape 8p and now a new sportback non mag ride and say the same.
When I first pushed the button on my TTS I stuggled to notice it, but after a week or so using it on B roads it was crap. Too firm and the car was skittish.
It will add sod all come resale time, infact people might think - another thing to go wrong.
My old TTS obviously had mag ride. 99% of the time it was left alone, on B roads it just didnt work - its designed for nice smooth roads/the track.
I would save your money.
Not sure why you wouldnt spec bluetooth from the off. I love the factory fit item even if its not as good as in the new A4.
Totally agree on the leather. Std black looks more like Vinyl and the Alcantara is great -had it in my old S3.
Mag Ride - not sure on this. Had it on my old TTS and...
The TTS is for sale at Aylesbury. Not sure if they will offer the same deal tomorrow as its end of qtr. It is a TTRS though with too many options. If it had been close to basic they wouldnt offer this. Car is a launch car they have had for a while.
I would agree that 8-10% should be realistic.
Autobytel is a front for the Inchape group. All they do is call the nominated dealer. There is no fighting about it there. I have used them for a couple of car purchases. You will see some of their current offers are for cars registered by today - end of qtr. In theory Autoebid will get dealers...
I would agree that there is more to a car than the interior, but even taking the way the RS4 integrates a mobile phone vs the new A4 is a massive difference.
Ive just got shot of my TTS and had the use of the new A4. The way the bluetooth integrated there was way ahead even of the TTS. The...
Ive also been looking at RS4's in addition to some other cars. Just sold my TTS.
Things worry me are:
1. Price - My local dealer struggled to get £31k for a less than 2 years old saloon.
2. The new S4. Have to say that at roughly £40k for the new S4 Avant with some toys I think it...
I did consider it, but it would be another £10k and the car would be just coming out of warranty. Advice from a number of people was to go with the TT-S as a financial propostion. I also considered having another RS4 or M3.
I mentioned Runflats in my previous post as our company BMW's have...
Remember I have already owned the TT as well as the S3 so know what space it has. With two daughters who for some strange reason like me I need at least 3 seats. Wife can stay at home. Tried the 2 seater idea with a 350Z and had too many arguments. We have a Chelsea tractor for the big loads...
