Hi you need to get the sump off ASAP and get the oil pick up pipe checked to see if its blocked if it the general advice is is to replace the oil pump and pick up pipe replace oil and filter with fresh do about 1000miles drain oil and replace again with new and get rid of the audi long life...
Can any one tell me the differance between the b5 and b6 shock and spring set up or coilovers please as its driving me up the wall as no one seems to know and my car needs to be lower to the ground desperatley the only springs i can find are only 40mm and i need 50 -60mm or coil- overs :jump:
I decided to remove my sump today to check the pick up pipe and guess what it was blocked solid so i decided to remove the oil pump too and yep that was a goner, good job i had bought a new pump then, anyway its all back together now and the oil/filter will be changed again in 1000 miles as this...
Ill get xmass out of the way then make a start gathering bits up from the usa as it would be rude not to take advantage of the pound v dollar at the moment then hopefully all going to plan it should be done for around april may time
No i doant really bother with engine builders as i can do all the work myself i think it would be possible to build with steel rods low comp forged pistons polished,ported and cammed and a whole load of other items for about £3500 ish looking at the basic design of the engine i think around...
I doant suppose you kept the old engine at all if you did would you want to sell it to me as that would make life a bit easier in finding out exact internall measuments, and i could prob re build it which would also save me having to take the car off the road for more than a day
Cheers mate ive used pro-long adative in the past on a 700bhp nissan there was a definate differance of before and after using it maybee a good precaution to use some just in case the oil pump is about to give up ill be stripping mine down over christmass to replace the pump and pick up pipe...
Hi everyone just purchased my first audi last week had a few problems with it but never mind i still think its one of the best cars ive owned any way its a 1.8t 2001 model b6 i belive with the engine code avj is there anything wrong with this engine as it was only fitted for around 1.5 years...
