Nope. Just took it off and put it in the boot. Not really bothered why it failed.
I cant even be bothered putting a new unit in because that may fail in the future and I dont want to be doing this again.
Dont see the point in alarms now really as they serve no purpose in my opinion due to...
This thread is excellent. My alarm has gone crazy so I did the proceedure on this thread. will just leave the alarm out permanently though I think because of the hassle this has caused.
One thing to note though is the well were the siren is located was really wet at the bottom with a pool of...
Im sorry mate but it is a fact that Audi is more upmarket than VW. If it wasn't then nobody would buy Audis because they would be a ripoff.
Also there is a quality difference. Anyone with a brain can see that an Audi has a better quality interior than an equivelent model VW in the same way...
Would be good for someone to take me out with an uprated S3. Ive had mine for 2 and half years and despite loads of people telling me to map it I've never felt the need to do so. It would be interesting to see the difference.
This happened to me about 2 years ago. I was at work and my mate come in from his dinner break and said both my windows were open. It never did it again but it worried me for a while.
I did a bit of experimenting though and I think it happens if you press the alarm button on the fob for too...
Exactly, although Im not sure I agree with the last bit because I think your always better off redlining it. It would be interesting to do a test though to see.
Anyway my car is not mapped and pulls cleanly to 7000 rpm (Its a 225bhp BAM) so I don't think chipping it has anything to do with it...
What the hell is all this about changing up at 5k rpm. I change at close to 7k rpm so I've got no idea what you guys are doing.
If you actually look at a graph you will see that peak power is actually at around 6000 rpm so to change up before then is madness. It then tails off at close to 7000...
Just read the actual pre budget report.
For people like me with a BAM engine and 225bhp we will be now put in the new band K (CO2 201-225g/km).
This means we will be paying the same as the 210bhp cars with 223g/km of CO2. Yippe.
Hence your road tax for this year if you haven't already paid...
The pre budget report is due in the next week. I have a feeling that the retrospective road tax increases will be scrapped so don't worry guys. You will never pay over £400 for your road tax
