ok have a megs clay bar for a while but its past its best.

what do people suggest as a replacement and do they all need quick detailer to lube them ???

Yes you need lube - not necessarily QD. Water and shampoo mixture is an alternative. Personally the sonus bars are good, but nothing wrong with the Megs bars, so would just stick with those.

Remember, don't throw away your old clay bars. They are useful for windows (if not too mucky) and then wheel uses. Remember both afore mentioned surfaces will gain just as much if not more contamination that the clay will help to remove.

thanks for the quick reply , was talking to a friend as they use the megs kit but he was thinking Sonus Green. He then tried to get me to go halves on a machine polisher as my wife has a Black golf with swirls and they bug me lol so might even go the full hog just worries me making a mess of the car.

Sonus green (mild) is almost identical. Maybe a little finer than the Megs Quick Clay kit contents. Barely enough to write home about to be honest.

DA polisher? Worth it as long as you learn how to get the best out of it.

+1 here for a DA... I don't know how I managed before without one. You won't go messing up your car with one either as they're a doddle to use with plenty guides and advice out there if you're needing it!
