Audi A3 – Interior detail

I was asked to take a look at a friend’s sisters’ Audi A3 interior.. It needed ‘cleaning’ pre-sale.

Products / Kit

• AutoSmart G101
• AutoSmart Bio-Brisk
• Meguiars Pet Hair Removal Brush
• Meguiars Slick-Lock Brush
• Meguiars Triple-Duty Action Brush
• Plenty of microfibre cloths
• VAX6131 Extraction system
• Woolite

It’d been a while since I’d done an Interior only job, so, ready to get stuck into this one..

...that is of course until I saw the car in question:

Hmmmm. Lovely! (Gloves ON for this one I think..)

Random! “Fishing, anyone?”

I started with the removal of all the mats and gubbings.. A thorough hoover was given and then I jumped in the back to try fix the dog hair problems..

A very time consuming job! It wasn’t fully removed; tweezers would be the only alternative to get every single last hair out (something I hadn’t got the time for today!)

After this, I started with some of the wet-work. Mats first..

50/50 on passengers’ front:

One or two little spots remained; the drivers mat had seen better days (might be worth replacing this one altogether)

I begun to clean the seats.. Same process used as for the mats. AS Bio-brisk applied, left a little while, agitated slightly and given a few passes with water. Several more extracting water and finally the whole seat was ‘wettened’ with a warm Woolite/water mix. This ensures the seat dries as one; doesn’t leave nasty tied marks on the bolster edges etc.

Mid-way through cleaning the nasty passenger seat:

And some of the water collected throughout:

Seats were done first to give as much time as possible to dry before collection… Floor carpets went through the same procedure.

Plastics were wiped with G101 to remove a fine film of dirt:

Pedals scrubbed. Re-hoovered and mats repositioned. (Drivers mat spoiling the next photo!)

Fini.

Thats the worst interior I think I have ever seen!

Good job turning that around mate!

Great turn around Jim lad. Vax came in useful there to say the least??!!

How much do you charge for doing this mate, might want my A3 cleaning aswell????

Yeah same here with my car, my interior is shizzle! The vax has a hand held cleaner with it that you can use to clean the seats with right? I might have a crack at it as my seats/interior is crap!!! Just have no clue what to use on the seats and floor!

Again, thanks for the support all.

VAX, certainly did! Coughed and spluttered a bit yesterday, but, dirty water tank was a bit full! ha ha

The VAX came with a wet n' dry head, but, far too big for car seats and automotive carpets.. Get yourself one of these and you'll be laughing - http://www.espares.co.uk/part/vacuu...4/110/508981/508204/upholstery-wash-tool.html

You got any APC? Lightly missed onto the surface, agitate if required. Make the passes with water and then several more extracting. Repeat if you can still see water being picked up through the attachement head and then 'wet' the whole seat with a clean, damp cloth as this will allow the seat to dry as 'one' without showing 'ringlets' or tidemarks where the water dried..

Whats APC? *shy face* Great advice mate, cheers for that! :) I'll give it a go when i go for my full blown detail!

APC - all purpose cleaner Gops. Catch me on FB chat next time you see me online. :)
