Hi Guys,

It is with much sadness that i have to tell you that my S3 was written off in an accident last week Thursday...my car was running strong (REVO STAGE 2+) and was really happy with it. (i have removed all my parts to be placed on my next S3) These things happen though and I have now been presented with an opportunity to do one of two things:

I can either pick up a decent second hand S3 ('07) Model for a fair price and be back behind the wheel of an S3 within the next month.

Alternatively I can drive my Golf 5 2.0 for the next 7 months, put away all the cash I would have spent on installments on the second hand S3...and order myself a brand new S3 to be delivered in January.

Im leaning more towards being patient and waiting...:icon_thumright:

Few questions though...what colour to go for...my previous car was Phantom Black...Perhaps an Ibis White this time around? Would someone please post up a pic of an Ibis white with black optics and black alloys please just for an idea.

Thanks guys ;)

sorry to hear this mate, never fun dealing with accidents n stuff :slapped:

i defo wait and get myself a new one.. you would need to order it fairly soon anyway for a jan build date if im not mistaken

Run your Mk 5 and save your money till you can afford to buy an S3.. I cant understand people who buy cars on the knock ! I appreciate your in SA but in the UK this "must have it yesterday" attitude is the reason we are all in the mess we are in.

Totally get what you're saying mate....here in SA ppl change their cars more often than they change their underwear...no use throwing all your hard earned cash into a depreciating asset...sure you save on interest etc, but like I said, we change cars often here and with our new strict National Credit Act getting finance is more difficult than finding a supermodel to date...so in reality we have to be able to afford the car before they give us finance ;)

Ive never bought a car outright with my own funds in 20yr.
Im not in a mess, far from it.
Bank loans are your friend.

If people didnt buy cars using finance and loan facilities, we wouldnt have a motor industry.
And nice stuff would be be the reserve of the well heeled and Paddy.
Perish the thought.

cheers
Paul

Wade in there with a rusty spade and start removing limbs.

Not a court in the land would convict you under the circumstances mate.
