That's very nice of you to share it with us, thank you.

Watch the language though. :rulez:

Dude, off the line she wont... and then up in the rev range it doesnt keep pulling. I drove the new Focus RS the other day and even that sucked top end!

i dont have personal experence of the 1.8T but im sure it cant give up like that turbo does?

I use to have one it will do about 145 standard it would be a close match with a standard s3

ive played with a few ST's with my mapped S3 and they lose power against mine around the 50-60mph mark...after thats its bye bye in my experience

The reason it sounds like an Ur-quattro 20v is because effectively its the same 5 cylinder engine, IIRC Audi sold it to Volvo, (use in the T5) and Ford own Volvo, biggest difference is its mounted East-West as opposed to North-South in the engine bay, but its essentially the same motor.

pretty sure its the same bottom end, the similaritys end there.

A mapped ST will decimate most stage 1 maybe stage 2 S3's I reckon. They map up soooo well, and arnt too bad at putting down the power either. They are serious weapons.

Also failing to see how a focus RS, a 300bhp car! 'sucked' at top end. What are you comparing it too? lol

ha, what is he comparing it to! top end they hit 160, give or take a couple of mph.
The ST does map well, i've read articles in EVO and redline etc and they claim they produce more power than manufacturer claims. although this could be down to the inaccuracy of the dyno. But with a simple map and new exhaust system you can see 280hp. Im just gonna stop my mrs doin it! as my car is standard!

You're screwed mate, they're a quick car out the box, if she remaps it you're completely shafted as is most of what she's likely to come up against

comparing it to my mk1 Focus RS... its has about 280 bhp (when it doesnt have a boost leak) and keeps pulling hard through the rev range

LOL comparing it to a modded car. Still though surely your frs doesnt really have anything over the new rs? Iv never had the pleasure of going in an mk2 RS, might have to go pretend to buy one.

Superkarl, the only chance you have is if you slash her tyres. I personally would play it cool, dont admit to your car being slower, and make sure you dont end up driving side by side.

well the 1/4 mile times on mapped ST's are the same as mapped S3's so if you have to race,do it from a stand still...no waywill she balance the clutch enough to pull it together :)

mapped ST will batter an S3 shimples! will prob do a stage 1 and poss 2! i know its the wrong forum to say it on but i really think S3`s are ****! sorry.

Sorry to ruin the thread. It's a Ford.

just sold my ST to get an a4. Had mine stage 2 tweaked (dreamscience remap and double sized intercooler) would hit 60 in just under 6 secs and 150 top speed, midrange acceleration was huge, clutch lasted 24000 miles and the paint fell off, thats why I now have an a4,speed is not the only drug.

Hahaha that made me laugh like a mad man.

Thats the magic with fords. Paint obviously fell off because you were going too fast.

would you like to expand....(on the s3's being **** part..)

do you mean the older s3 there ? pretty sure the new one will destroy an st my old astra cdti (200hp) could stick to the back of one till 95-100

Looking at the stats it would be pretty even standard for standard. The S3 doesn't even trap 100mph terminal (although closer than the ST 97mph to 94mph), remapped? once rolling it's goodbye S3.
