Hi

Can the anti flood timing on replying top pm's be adjusted down to sensible level, as it keeps saying you cant post as you have just posted..
well yea, I've replied to a pm, and another different one within its overly long time.. its very frustrating being set at the time its currently at.

adjustable no doubt in the forums workings...

I dont get this anywhere else, just this place

fixable?

thanks
bill

I'll ask Bill :icon_thumright:

It'd be good if the wait between searches was reduced or got rid of too.
30 seconds can sometimes seem a lifetime!

No,sorry but thats something you'll have to live with.

I was talking about the search wait Bill

I cant imagine the search period isnt adjustable in this enviroment, it is damn annoying on both counts 1st being sending pm's & 2nd searches, I understand the reasoning to counter spamming systems on PM's anyway, but 60 seconds is way too long, also any software engineer could get round this feature anyway if they really wanted to spam us idiots lmfao, so I see no real point in it tbh.

no the search cannot be tweeked...still

I was talking about the reply to pm's delay... it gets in the way frequently
this is one of the most awkward forums I visit.. is it running different software on here to others?

not having a dig btw,

yes I did guess crossed wires Bill,I'll ask again am but a foot soldier so the techy room is off bounds :)

OK, we can reduce anti-flood and throttling on the PM system, there's an administration and server-overheads charge of £500 + VAT for 12 months, but you get a free banner-ad and forum ;)

...Seriously though, I've just had the spanners out and reduced the anti-flood time, but offset this somewhat with some throttling. Let me know how you get on; although if it's broken, I had nothing to do with it :whistle2:

Cheers,

Rob.

Thanks for the update Rob.
Out of interest can that be spread over 600 months & interest free :nyah: :undwech:

Your not the only one who thinks that Bill ...

And I'm probably not the only one who thinks you may have just won 'least constructive post of the day' for that one... I mean honestly, you might as well just post "Neener neener neener" for all the good sniping like that does...

All the best,

Rob.

Why make it even more simpler when it only takes 2 seconds in the first place?

good shout...the answer will be that time is money to some people who use the site
