Some of you may know about my 'bain of existence' clunking that I've got.

Well, it's been getting progressively worse as time goes on.

Started by clunking on full lock. No noise from the CV joints, just a metallic clunk.

Anyway, that's progressed over the last few months to a clunk on: Full throttle, gear change, heavy braking, turning full lock.

So far I have changed: Lower arm front bushes, lower arm atlas bushes, drop links, ARB bushes, brakes and bottom ball joints.

Someone give me a fresh opinion. The only things left are the shockers/springs and drive shafts/CVs.

Opinions?

In my head? Yes. I've given everything a good look over and can't see what is wrong with it.

Lol Paul.

Steering rack? Top mounts?

In fact, top mounts. Dependant on the sound, same issue I had with my Clio.

I've got a pair of top mounts at home ready to fit, so I may give them a whirl for shits and giggles.

My friend suggests a problem with the giggle pin in the laughing shaft.

But he's a ****. LOL.

Yeah I'd give the top mounts a go lad, purely based on what you've described. Something has to be moving in both directions (front-back/side-side).

I had a knocking mostly when cornering, was the driveshaft. But it went from bad to really bad pretty quickly.

Perhaps you've got a bottle of water hiding under your seat teasing you!

I hope it's not, but again, not beyond the realms of possibility. I did forget to mention if comes from both sides though.... so it wouldn't just be one shaft, but both. Yay.

Couldn't work out the clinking noise that I have had over the last week. Turned out to be a can of deoderant from my gym bag that had escaped and sat under the passenger seat!
