I sell "OEM Front" and "Rear" ambient LED kits on Ebay - it's a very popular Audi modification.
Ebay and PayPal fees do make it unnecessarily expensive, hence happy to supply forum members direct via PM at cheaper prices.

I have one "Platinum Grey" B6 rear light assembly, like the 'biege' one pictured below, already modified with ambient LEDS - available and looking for a new home.

Nice one, I did mine myself by trial and error soldering! But I saw them on ebay a while ago and thought it was very enterprising of someone :thumbsup:
 
so with out sounding toooo stupid the red light stays on all the time right is it not strange when driving at night i only ask as i like the look of it but not sure
if its would take to much getting used too.
 
Simon it "Bathes the cabin in a warm red glow" - it's quite nice, and is adjustable with the instrument lights so you can dim them down if needs be. But they're certainly not overbright.

They look bright in the ad's but they aren't that bad.

Like photo's of LED sidelights!
 
I have the front ones and love it, never seen it in the rear before, but I'm definitely going to do this mod :)

I have see a car a few years back and they'd done a simular thing in the footwells which was quite nice too.
 
in the footwells that sounds good any one got that and how did they do it ?
 
They're called footwell lights, a few cars came with them, but they are most often retrofitted.

It did look good, didn't consider it myself at the time as I had a crappy Saab (but real fast) at the time but now I'm tempted to try this.

I have those that come on when the door was opened, but this was a nice gental red glow when the lights were one. Not sure if it's going a bit too far, but I'm still tempted, lol.
 
1wheel has fitted red bulbs in his, and wired them to the lights (I think) which I imagine gives a similar effect?
 
im thinking ill look into this grab some LEDs from maplin and then pick up a feed from say the lighter LED for the feed would work

That's a good idea, now why didn't I think of that, much easier than what I was thinking.
 
ha its ok im coverd and at 300 pounds you cant go wrong lol no if i did it id use all the right stuff mate and inline fuses im sure it would be ok
would just need to find a good feed thats all

My kits only fit Saloons and Avants - not compatible with Cabriolets.
 
I have front and rear ambient lights in mine, fronts good but not impressed with the rear i must remove it and have a look and maybe make the holes a little bigger,i did have the correct hole sizes written down somewhere but as usual can't find anything when you want it (i must have cleaned up), as for the footwells i am in the middle of sourcing the parts, i'm going to use the same red lights as are in the doors fit them into the footwell holes just need to get some rear footwell brackets.

OEM front fascia cover holes are 6.7mm - you'll be OK with 6.5mm drilled holes.
 
It's really not very bright mate! To be honest, when there's streetlights you'll struggle to even notice they're on. I only ever notice mine when there are no street lights. Perhaps mine need re-jigging though to get them brighter. (and my dash clusters are illuminated to max, so that's all good there)
 
so they are no longer around then hmmmm i did look on the bay and pm.ed woorlord but not heard back yet.

There's another seller on ebay if you're getting impatient! Or I think they're only about £14 from the dealer.
 
oh really 14 ish thats good any have the part number for them . how did you fit them do you need to add any wier or ant thing to power them up
 
forget the stupid ? i asked about the adding of a wier just thought about it and think it just picks up a feed from the buttons that light up red at night lol
 
If you google "A4 ambient light guide" or similar it should bring up a pictorial guide. I'm on my phone at the moment so don't have it to hand.

You unclip the light lens, then there are two screws to undo which removes the whole unit. You need to drill two hole in a premarked place (6.5mm ??) And then the LED block will click in. The wires can be clipped in place, and I think there are spade connectors to complete the circuit. It doesn't get much easier!

I don't have the part number to hand, but I'm sure someone will have!
 
pjmspeedy got me mine. He'll know the part number etc. Just drop him a pm, i'm sure he'll oblige.

I just need to do my rear ones still, only got the front ones done. i believe the rear ones are a bit more of a job to fit them, rather than just a straight clip in.
 
There's no factory fit option for the rears. I have done a thread on it, search for "rear ambient light installation" and it should come up.

You need to drill the holes and then glue the module in. The wires need to be soldered into the existing light unit, it was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly which wires. Hopefully my thread will say, if not I'm sure Woorlord will oblige :)
 
Yeah, I remember seeing the thread before so was gonna use it for a guide. I seem to remember reading that the read plastic has what appears to be holes for the LED's, but they're actually off-centre?! I'm sure someone on here drilled them and they weren't quite lined up 100%.

On my front ones, I think I may need to try drop the LED module lower towards the plastic casing, as it is recessed, so not as much light is coming through as I would have liked.

haha, just after I posted I did wonder whether it was you or not! At least you've taken one for the team in the hope that none of us will make the same mistake! I know for a fact that i'd have done exactly the same, and it would have bugged me so bad too.
