mines not that great....

what does yours sound like?

or does mine sound rubbish cos the last owner swapped it? how can i confirm i actually have BOSE? when i turn on my headunit, it displays bose and my speaker grills have BOSE on it.

helpppp

i dont have bose but when i replaced my head unit from audi tape to audi cd player it was a bose one but as i dont have the rest of the set up it dont show bose
when i turn it on. so id say you must have it but mine is just the standerd 10 speaker set up and have to say it sounds really good so if yours dont then there maybe a chance the guy you got
the car from changed the speakers or has not put it back right. whats is it your not happy with is it the bass as i think evan the bose ones could do with more from what iv read on here.

I depends what your standards are. The audi system sounds good compared to other cars. But if i were to show those people some Sound Quality installs i've heard then they would think it was crap.

I've always found the BOSE to have too much top end and not enough mid bass. even if you fiddle with it nothing happens.

I have a set of speakers that i bought for 500 quid and have used through every car i've owned. im yet to plonk em in the Audi but they are lovely, ADS in car speakers are amazing clarity.

It depends on what you really mean about quality.
None of the oem sound systems is good in sq. First thing is that 10 speakers will never create good stage.
Proper sound system in a car should consist of front component speakers, subwoofer and amps running it all.
Even bang and olufsen isn't great because all it does, it creates stage with a processor,
and if you compare it with very good sq install you will see that it changes original sound recorded on cd.
Another thing that in convertibles even great sq system will not sound like the one in saloon or estate.
Fabric roof doesn't help in keeping sound inside of the car.

Well in my old car, I had a full ice set up. Front components, sub and amps to drive to sub and speaker. That set up had really good sq, loud, crisp and clear. I gave it away when selling the car cos I thought Bose was going to be as good as mine.

My Bose doesn't sound sharp or crisp. ESP when it's turned up to about 14/15. Very dissapointing.

I herd the Bose has an amp, where would this be located in my cab? It's a possibility the last owner replaced it for some non Bose setup?

my sounds sweet. The amp is in the boot on the right hand side.

What HU is installed in the car, also what Bose AMP do you have? The older style Bose (black case) AMP's IMO is rubbish, and it's prone to failure. The later style Bose AMP's were much better. Cannot remember when Audi changed to the later AMP's but I believe around the release of the B7.
