My S3 has now gone, new owner has just picked it up. As it drove off it looked stunning, I felt like running after him and saying I'd changed my mind, but managed to resist. I have advised him to join audi-sport.net and told him how wonderful you all are and how happy you would all be to help should he need any advice. :icon_thumright:
I am sure I will still be hanging around on here from time to time and will most probably be back in a Audi anytime soon.

Cheers Everyone

Mark :sadlike:

When's the Beemer comming mate?

Flying down to Newquay in the morning to see the car, all being well will finalise the deal on Tuesday and drive home in the evening. If all is not well I am stuck in Cornwall LMAO, Mr and Mrs Wiggy will be hitching on the M5. Seriously though I don't see a problem the car looks immaculate and the owner assures me it is, its a one owner car with 8k on it so it should be Ok.

Good luck with the new agricultural vehicle Mark...............:w00t:

Enjoy mate, be interested to see what you think of it.

No Beemer knocking from me, I really like them. Horrible to see a car you love wander off up the road in the hands of the new owner. :bye:

I am now completly over the S3, I have a new love in my life, a baby beemer. Drove it back from Newquay this afternoon after picking it up this morning. Really like it, very very comfortable those Msport seats are excellent and the quality and finish of the leather is far superior to the S3.It will never perform like the S3 but it does go very well,I am sure once I get used to driving it, it will put many a smile on my face. Averaged 45 mpg over a 350 mile trip of varied roads and 80mph on the motorway. The only down side is those damn run flats, not as harsh as I thought they would be,but very noisy at times. I will consider changing them I think.

Must say I never thought the day would come when I would say I was happy with a BMW, or a diesel, but at the moment I am happy, we will see how it goes in the longterm.

Enjoy the new motor! It's good to have variety in life - and when you've had enough you can just get another Audi lol

Glad your happy with your new purchase Mark. Greeat news!

ENJOY!!

Get rid of the runflats and they are rubbish tbh!

Have fun in the Beamer!

A good friend of mine has an 08 plate 320d and hes had his leather replaced a few times due to various issues with it, and my retrimmer says the way BMW trim their seats is awful, weird that!

Thats a strange one then, I really like the look ,finish and it smells lovely.

Hi all, I am the new owner of Mark's old S3. I am a returning member of this forum from wayyyy back. Mark, I am glad everything went well with the BMW purchase and would just like to say thanks for a pleasant transaction. I Love the car, even though I have only done 80 miles in it since last Sat.

Glad you happy Chris,It really is a nice car it was sad watching you drive off. Anyway thank you also for the pleasant painless transaction. You need to be out playing more in the car though, 80 miles !! 45 of those were going home.
Happy motoring !

I'm Back !!! Well nearly, got rid of the Beemer, absolutely hated it after a while.
Bought a VAG car again, thought about another A3 but thought it was a bit close to the new model. Drove a Golf GTD 170 DSG a few months ago and really liked it, but don't really like Golfs so bought a Scirocco with the same setup. So much nicer to drive than the BMW and the build quality is so much better.

Welcome back.

I think I will be going over to the dark side in a few months, looking to replace the A3 with a BMW 320 M Sport Touring. Petrol model of course though.

Don't do it, you will regret it, BMW are not a patch on Audi.

i've had two 3 series, (GF at the time, forced me!) but had a TT and 2 8P's. got to say Audi get my vote :racer: :yum:

Im on my first Audi, and I do like it so far (only been a month).
The DSG is way smoother than the SMG.

Its unfair to compare my A3 2.0 TDi to my previous E46 M3 but driving the BMW was a joy, makes every drive an exiting one (specially in the wet). :racer:

in what ways though? build quality? customer service?

Build quality and ride were my main issues, squeaks and rattles which were very annoying. The ride quality was very poor which i put down to the Runflat tyres, also grip from these was very poor. The back end would hop and skip if put under any great acceleration when exiting a corner when really it should just drift. The only real positive note for me was the Leather M-Sport seats, they are so comfortable probably the best seats I have ever had in a car.
But don't let me put you off Robin, I would advise a long test drive to make sure your happy with the car.

Thanks for the info Mark.

The missus actually wants an Mk5 R32 but i like the BMW.

320 Touring M Sport

Not getting bored with the A3, just need something a bit bigger really.............

Jesus even wrote this in the old testament :lazy:

spot the error(s)

i'd hve a Z4 over a TT, but otherwise i can't think of a BMW model i'd prefer to the Audi competitor

there isn't a Z4M atm, but i'd defos have a Z4 35si over a TTS. if they ever release a Z4M i'd almost certainly have a (wait for it) Cayman over both of them

My bad I forgot they changed the design.

petrol or oil burner robin stay well clear of anything other than the 2.5 or 3.0 as the 2.0 is slower than a robin reliant and uter ***** on fuel too all noise i think the term is lol the oil burner isnt too bad tho quick and good on fuel if you want an estate car get an a4 avant job done
