Shall I wait for MY11?

So I had a call today to say the car I have ordered will be ready by the end of June!! Originally they said it would be end October and it would be a MY11.

Question is shall I wait for the MY11 or get it end of June/beggining of July? They said if I really wanted a MY11 they would cancel the order and reorder in a couple of weeks to save the same thing happening so wouldn't get delivery until October/November.
 
MY11 has some cosmetic changes only, AFAIK, but check with the dealer as to exactly how MY11 differs from MY10.
 
When did you place the order for your car? and What model have you gone for?
 
I agree with maninthestreet. Decide if My11 is what you want after checking with dealer on your options.

It seems a simple economic question to me. Right now a US '07 A3 is worth aprox $3000 USD more than an '06 (about 10-15% of it's total value) according to autos.msn. That's a lot of potential money to give up just to get your car a couple months early. I personally would be ****** with myself if I didn't wait for the '11.
 
Just get it now and enjoy it , or sack it totally and wait for the new shape which must be announced soon , as the current shape is looking aged , even with the facelift.
 
I've got a new S3 coming in May and it's going to be a MY2011, they stopped building MY2010 in March.

I'd double check that if I were you, MY11 is from build week 22, which is June as far as other posters on here have said.

They havn't got a clue! Better info on the net than the dealers, they told me the car was identical to MY10 when this link and other suggest differently. Still don't know if it's enough to wait for, plus I'm wanting to do some mods and sods law says they will change things under the skin that prevent me from doing so, so I think I'm siding with getting in end June.

Need it sooner than that as current car is going in a few months.

Still building 2010 now unless some one dropped out and they put mine in the queue?

Oh and Aluminium inlays are not an option for BE any more
 
I too will be placing an order very soon and will request a MY11 . I think Audi need to give some clarity on this now as the dealers don't seem to have a clue - or do they ?
 
I was told in Feb that the order book for MY2010 was full so i had to go on the MY2011 list, since then i've been told that Audi are building 2 weeks early so i will get my car 3rd week in May...not sure of the week number it will be My2011
 
Going check with my dealer tomorrow to see it my car is MY10 or MY11 will report back later.
 
I would go with MY11 even if waiting few months longer mate as it would hold more value & newer systems aswell.
 
Mine was finally ordered this week and they've quoted Nov delivery date - went for the Brilliant Red but have asked them to do it in Dakota Grey if it's available as the UK Marketing say it's only going to be available on the TT.

Been see my dealer today. Told me that my car will defo be a MY11.
 
6 Months, thats a V Long build date, is it a special order?
 
How do you mean by special order mate? It's purely just a 3 door 1.6 TDI Standard with Xenons and upgraded stereo, black roof etc, nothing really fancy at all on there! They did tell me a week ago it would be 12-14 weeks - now as soon as it's ordered it's changed to more than double that!

Half a year is a hell of a wait for a new car! I placed an order (through work) last week for a new Black Edition - if they come back and say anything like the wait you've got, it'll be cancelled.

I mean like 'Special' Paint etc like on the Audi exclusive range, but as you say it's standard, 6 months is crazy! I ordered a new S3 3 weeks ago for September Delivery, but could have had it sooner if I wanted, think certain dealers have set allocations, and by the looks of it the dealer you have ordered from has used all of theirs up, just a thought.

Maybe you will get a cancellation slot nearer the time on the production line if you're lucky.

Since placing my order I too have been given a delivery date of November! I've now cancelled the order as I have no intention of waiting half a year for a car to be built. :no:
 
Blimey if they quote November delivery for me then my order will also be cancelled, i was wanting it for September 1st!! and that is too long to wait..
 
I placed an order on Sunday ( S3 SB S-Tronic ) and it came up as early to mid September

That's interesting as MY11 starts to build in week 22 (1st week in June)

Ask you dealer for confirmation from the Audi order system, it should look something like this...

Model . . : 10 Audi S3 SB S3 quattro Man.
Colour . . : Ice Silver, metallic Status : Factory ordered

As you can see mine is down for a MY10 build.

For you to get your car 3rd week in May it would have to be built 2 to 4 weeks prior to that. Can you ask for clarification?

I can't understand why some of you are getting so long wait. I spoke to my dealer and they checked and told me factory is still about 12 weeks wait.
 
My dealer as just comfired to me that they are building MY11 models A3 now.
 
Anyone know for def what the changes are yet, my dealer called today and said that the S3 was now coming as standard with the tech pack, but will also get a £1500 price increase on top of the 2% or whatever all a3's are getting, so nothing extra really. He wasn't to sure about my car as i wouldn't have to pay any extra because the order was placed some time ago, but does seem to think they will build my car without it as it is an order allready placed which seems a little odd as surely the idea of doing them all as standard frees up production lines somewhere...

We will wait and see
 
I just got an expected delivery date of the 22nd November - that's bonkers!

Plus my order was a Brilliant Red - although I'd asked for Dakota Grey if it was going to be available as the sites on the net have reported - and it's come through as Ibis White! Plus looks like they've changed the non smoking pack into a request for the ashtray - even though they confirmed it on the phone.

Are Audi dealers always this bad?

When did you place the order? I still can't get a built date never mind a expected delivery date.
 
It was at the end of last month? I've not actually seen a build date, just the date above as the expected delivery date.
 
oops, I spoke to my dealer and she told me that any orders placed now will have an Oct/Nov delivery she couldnt tell me why! As mine was ordered in March I have been given a build date of week 21, delivery was a bit vague tho, mid - end of June
