Which manifold for a KO4

As stated, what is everyone using....are we all waiting for the JBS item to surface at a cost of £700 upwards or has anyone had any success with the dreaded ebay jobbies.....

Assuming we're talking about the 'Stainless Steel Tubular Manifolds' on ebay, ebay jobbies are only good for using as doorstops, or any other use which doesn't require exhaust gas to flow through it.

I bought one and sent it back. Workmanship was ploptastic - it looked like it had been welded up by a 1 armed blind man who was welding with his feet.

Big thumbs down from me....

Having had experience of the K03 manifolds INA do I would be wary of them tbh... everyone of the ones I have seen have cracked within a few weeks...

The JBS K03 mani seems to be holding up ok on the badger 5 Lupo so far....

That’s inspiring! I will hazard a guess that they may not be available until the end of the year so I may do a suspension overhaul instead and put the hybrid & Manifold down as a 2011 mod! S3 modifying IS EXPENSIVE!
 
...it should also be noted that the K03 mani looks less restrictive than the K04 one, is easier to get off and Bill ported one a bit removing the obvious restriction in one of the runners...

By no means perfect but does make you wonder what the thinking behind the K04 mani was in the first place...

To put that into perspective, the K03 hybrid conversions that Bill has done thus far have given as much if not more power than stage 2 K04 turbo'd cars... One Ibiza on SCN that is running a K03 hybrid that Bill mapped is putting out 296bhp and 344ftlbs... (subject to dyno lottery of course)... it has rods of course and is running water/meth injection but shoes you the potential...

its been close for months now.. jst like jbs's has been coming.. but at least i have seen pictures of a jbs k04 mani thats been cast, back in Jan this year

whoever gets one to market at the right price first will sell a lot.. so long as they turn out to be reliable.
 
reason i ask is cos a mate has a gt28 to fit to a Leon.....the housing is apparently modified to fit a KO4 mani and so he was gna go the ebay route until i suggested waiting to see what you guys posted.

cheers fella...otherwise its a case of, is anyone selling a KO4 mani please :)

although i doubt this will be a viable thing to find :)

I will never have reccommended anyone get an eliminator kit, so if you have been led to believe otherwise, thats plain intrue
 
na mate...to be honest i cant remember if it was an eliminator or not, seem to remember it being genuine garret and you did explain at the time..... but thats now beyond me

isnt that what S3 Chris fitted to his back in the day?

if elim 2 its "supposed to be better, but I cant vouch for that not havign seen one in the flesh and mapped it etc
 
na i did pass on ya comments last time fella..... will have to see how it fairs assuming he can get a KO4 mani
 
Its not an HKS, as i said on my earlier post the seller assume this is made by "relentless tuning" and it is high quality made.
But still we have to see if anyone had any experience with those...and i dont seem to find that person.
Im tempted by this manifold...
 
my bad mate...i didnt state relentless tuning in my other posts.
Same as u i thought it was made by HKS but its not...its 300$ US and no one knows it its good since S3 wasnt introduced in the usa/canada
so ill have to find out from golf gti and tt members but it doesnt seem i am able to find any who use this...
 
so....no manifold that is worth it for meanwhile
this stuff must have been already made by a known brand...how come they didnt care about it?
