It is TOTALLY standard mate, as the day she came out the factory. Drives lovely as well. Doesn't clunk and bang like mine!
Yeah, thats about the profit I'm looking for, maybe a little like £1400 after I've stuck it through an MOT and had the front bumper done. The front bumper really lets it down, and I just can't let it go like that.
One week from start to end - and spent a lot of that twiddling my thumbs waiting for parts!

Yes mate, she had a new engine in November last year. It's a low miler too, the bores look brand new. So, it's had a new engine and turbo, timing belt etc etc etc in the last 6 months!
Bargain buy if you ask me.
Hmmmmm. Also, an interesting note there is that the N75 valve hadn't been unplugged, either electrically, or the pipework.
Audi diagnostic abilities? Makes you wonder why it's worth paying dealer prices for the same old monkeys....
What with the turbo being absolutely being shot, and having something jammed inside it, I'm intrigued to know what, if any, testing they did to say that the turbo was fine....
Audi confirm that they have dug a hole, and are looking into it.

This is an example of the gravel rash on the front bumper. I simply cannot let it go like this, it looks awful!
All she needs is the bumper painting, a good polish, a vacuum inside and I'm going to put it through it's MOT before it goes. There is only about a month left. However, she feels a sturdy as anything, so am comfortable with putting it through, should be fine.

Good news people, she passed her MOT today. Now got over 12 months MOT and is nearly ready to sell.
Bumper needs doing as do the wheels. Will get the both sorted next week and then it's good to go.
On a side note, the car is going much better now. Feels really nicely powered and happy. Was a bit sluggish and smokey when first driven - this was due (I think) to the amount of residual oil floating around from doing quite a few miles with no turbo!
Anyway, will post pics of paint work when done. Onwards.....

Welly, never spend too much money sorting out a car you're about to sell. Buyers simpy won't notice or care and will disregard any money you've spent when making an offer.
I got my S3 fully serviced even though it wasn't due until May, did the tracking, sorted out all the niggly interior problems, sorted out the rear springs, changed the thermostat and got new headlight clips thinking it'd help in the sale. In the end I had to let my 2001 Noggy Blue S3 go for £4800 which I'm now regretting

^as much as that makes a lot of sense, the front bumper is pretty awful and really detracts from the car. Betting you know somewhere cheap enough anyway, eh Welly!
I don't know what you're on about pal.....
I may know someone who will paint it for me - including supply and fit of new washer jet pushy outy bits - and refit for *cough* £90.
Worth doing IMO.

He does good prices - although I get mates rates - he would of done the whole bumper for a regular punter for £110 which is still very good.

My bumper looked like that. I bought a new product called Black Box by Turtle wax. Cleaner, wax detailer etc. all black. For a giggle I did the car in it. The bumper was transformed. Obviously not permanent but to sell a car. The stone chips were not visible any more. I am painting the bumper next month as I am keeping mine. Kit was 17.50. Just a thought to keep the cost down.

Finesse, re scratches, there are solutions any detailer can talk you through (PM me with a photo when you can and I can suggest ideas).
Chips, apart from chips away type places, there is nothing short of a respray that can really make them look 100% or even 50% better. When my rear bumper goes in before summer, I will get them to do my front at the same time. Sad that in just three months (first three months of ownership) we have some of the worst snow conditions possible

This is good advice...... And I don't disagree.
It's not that though, I just hate looking at it, and the front bumper truely is a disgrace. For the sake of £90 I simply can't let it go like it, and I GUARANTEE that someone will knock me down £100 for the state of the bumper.
The wheels are bad too. I've got a some filler kicking around anyway, and can get 2 x 500ml cans of silver paint off the bay for less than a tenner. I've got primer, lacquer all kicking about also. Just seems a crime to not do it.
The damage (all-be-it superficial) to the driver's front wheel is bad. Worth the £15 it will cost me to do, and a couple of hours IMO.
