At what revs should the turbo start coming in? I have been told that mine has been mapped and was just wondering what the differences between mapped and un-mapped.
Thanks

2500 mine kicks in and I don't think theres any difference whether mapped or not

Is there any other way to find out if it has been mapped? Other than rolling road.

it should be easy to know but if you have problems with the car i.e a boost leak it would be harder to spot

Not really to be honest mate.

It'll 'kick in' (just like a V-TEC yo!) at about 2500rpm, since my remap it just has more boost and carries on all the way through the rev range rather than trailing off at about 5k rpm.

I switched mine off for three months and only put it back for the home journey from the pod and it was so different its unreal

ok thread hijack in progress

voorhees, what is your warm up and cool down etiquette? Do you bother or just drive slow and warm up naturally?
Yep I go off boost for the last mile home generally and don't hit the power after cold start-up generally until 3 miles

Mine comes in at 1750 and tails off just after 5K and Ive been told that VAG COM would show if its been mapped, I dont know what to look at though.

Get the airflow logged on vagcom, or fit a boost gauge or find someone else with either a standard or mapped car and compare yours.
