Hey guys,

What can you tell me about the bilstein b12 suspension in comparison with the stock s-line. I'm only interested in the handling, i totally disregard the ride comfort.

Many thanks

Thanks a lot N8, but that didn't help me 2 much :D. Anyone with different opinions is well apreciated i can buy the B12 kit for as low as 250euros :)

Don't waste your time and money with OEM S-Line suspension.
I had it on my car and its too soft for a sporty use.
I swapped them for bilstein B8 and Eibach sportLine spring which is like B12. Huge improvement in handling and sharpness.
Know I fitted B16 PSS 10 on my car.

Don't want to pay disrespect but it's all written in french..:D and shamefully i must admit i don't speak that language.

Yes, sorry, but N8 asked for pictures.
I don't feel like translate it all, right now.

No worries laurent.d, your commets are more than apropriate ;), i've managed to understand using google translate :), please tell me how would you complare B12 agains B16 is very a that great difference.

P.S you have a wonderful car, well done

Agreed. You might as well upgrade if you want sporty handling. The s-line suspension is ok but for that money you might as well get the Bilsteins.

Laurent: you've got an awesome car there ... I love the 'Ring photos on page 4!!

First of all B16 are adjustable, ride height and damping.
B16 are softer when fitted on soft and stiffer fitted on hard.
But more than that, B16 damping is smoothest, more subtle.

@laurent.d: do you happen to remember the codes for the B8 dampers, and how low was sitting the care in comparison with the s-line suspension.

On my invoice it's writed:

Front 600 VE3A819
Rear 600 BE5A820

But I found out BE5A611 on the company website where I bought it.

Damper don't lower the car but springs yes.

Eibach SporLine lowered the car of about 1,5 cm other S-Line springs

how is the ride with them dampers?

About B8 ride:

The ride is very taut and firm but still not too uncomfortable for me.
It can be some time to time a tiny bouncy but overall the ride is superb.
The car is much more stable at high speed.
Steering is sharper.
The car doesn’t move around anymore when driving hard.

I was considering the B90 version of this kit in order to soften the ride as the Irish roads are so bad that I find myself weaving down the road to avoid them.

Would this kit be a better softer ride than the standard S line suspension? Or could someone recommend a suspension set up that would be softer? Not too worried about handling as it's the wife's car

I have a 07 A3 SB 2.0 Tdi 170 DSG S line

thanks
