Afternoon Homies, west side and all that jazz. LOL.

Well, on this beautiful day, my new K04 has arrived! Yay!!

Identical to the old one in every way (Tuffty, they both already have an EGT probe blanking plate in them).

I am very very happy with this purchase, what a bargain. It has been fully reconditioned as stated. Top top nick, and for £249 was an absolute steal.

Photos are below. Waiting on my Euro Car Parts order which should be here tomorrow....

Then I've got Thursday off to reassemble. :icon_thumright:

The saga continues....

good effort dude, you fitting new cambelt, tensioner water pump etc etc or has it all been done recently?

if all the bits turn up on time, she'll be on ebay come saturday?

oh, did you ever find out what the 'foreign object' was too?

Never found out what the ****** hell it was pal, god knows. I can only assume that it's dropped in there when she had a new engine last year.

New belt, new tensioner, no new water pump (been done in November and hardly done any miles).

Thats the plan mate, hopefully should all be done by the weekend! Get my dollar back ASAP!! C R Turbos Stage 4 hybrid K04 is calling my name....

with the money you'll make on this one you can afford to go bt, was it tuffty or badger bill tempting you with the gt30? :eyebrows:

Twas Tuffty, the ******!

He didn't manage to convince me though.

My main arguement is that it would be hard to do a BT conversion in the garage, when a K04 Hybrid is so easy by comparison!

Also, if I do go Hybrid, and then decide that I want to go BT afterwards, the turbo and downpipe etc will make good money resale to be fair. So in my eyes, it's a no lose situation. :icon_thumright:

since when have you started taking the easy route dude?
you aint going soft on us are you?

LOL, never. It's the cost as well mate to be honest. The missus is continually kicking my *** at the moment for my spending on cars.

£2000 is a lot easier to swallow than £3000.... not much I grant you, but a bit.

£2000 gets me the downpipe etc, all parts to fit, the turbo and the map.

Plus I'm interested to see exactly what a hybrid is really capable of.

Welly this quote is from american pie 3 and not the fast and the furious, I think you should edit your post

My personal favourite:

Spirit. Thank you. Thank you for providing us with the direct-port nitrous... uh... injection, four-core intercoolers, an' ball-bearing turbos, and... um... titanium valve springs. Thank you.

amen bro..

Well, she's all done and been out for a test run.

All good, fired up first time and is running beautifully.

Turbo is pulling well, so happy with that.

I'll take some pics later on and post them up. I can't be bothered right now!! LOL.

Good lad!!! So, car for 3k, turbo/parts/time, couple of hundred? You should make a fair old mint on that! Beers on you when I meet you this year!

Well, I total the parts up at £500, pretty much exactly.

That's a recon turbo, parts for fitting, head gasket, cam belt kit, head bolts, thermostat, G12 and oil & filter.

Shibby.

She runs top notch. I think it needs a replacement cam speed sensor, one of which I happen to have spare. I'm going to pop out in a bit and put the top cam belt cover on and fit the engine cover. I'll charge that sensor at the same time.

Original problem is gone, turbo is pulling quite happily now.

I'm going to have the front bumper painted, and repaint the wheels as they have a few kerb marks, then she's going to go up for £5500.

It's completely original, nothing has been changed what-so-ever.
