OK, productive evening.
Got that b*stard bolt out of the turbo support bracket by hammering a multi spline bit into it and then cracking it off. Thank god. I must admit I though the bolt head was going to have to be cut off, which I wanted avoid.
Turbo is out and now in my garage - not looking too bad. Something (two photos below hoping that someone might know what it is!) fell out of the hot side of the turbo on removal. I'm assuming it's an integral part of the turbo. Either that or it's a foreign object which has been jamming the turbo. Also, the hot side blades are touching on the casing at one point, indicating to me that the shaft may be bent. Either way - it's ill.
That I moved on to stealing the strut brace off of it, and fitting it to the Yellow S3. It's only temporary and will be replaced since I've ordered one off of the bay, just wanted to know what the differnce is! I haven't taken it out yet, but will report on that.
So, just waiting to order replacement parts now and then reassembly can commence. :icon_thumright:
