kept new leather with white stiching , harder to do but not much :)

I've done the same thing on mine - was a bit of a pain to staple the plastic base but worth it imo.

Can anyone confirm the correct Audi Part number for these gear knobs and gaitors with the silver/white stitching? I'm having no luck :(

The part number is the first post mate, this is for the 'silver' stitching. Oxford Audi said this was the newest part number in December?

Cheers Matt

Just saw this thread resurrected and with perfect timing as I just got mine through the post. MikeA3 or fingermouse, do you mind posting some photos of how you did the staples on the plastic? I really don't want to keep my leather and new stitching looks much nicer.

New stitching doesn't match in my opinion, but a great mod all the same. May look into this.

**Adds to the list!!**

What other gear knobs would fit? I fancy a nice alacantara one!

If anyones old 'knobs' are in good condition can you let me know as I'd be interested... Mines starting to discolour and would rather replace with oem.. (providing the condition is good, the colour on mine has started to fade....)

mines here somewhere, just think the chrome had a little cut in it some where around the badge. Don`t think there that much from Audi tbh

Just found this pic of how it all ties in nicely!

Cheers Matt

Looks lush... ok that's won me over. Def think it suits the theme of the s3 more without the white stitching as it matches the handbrake, steering wheel finish etc... :)

@ Matt,

Thanks, I did see the part number first time round but the Audi Parts guy said it was wrong. He emailed me back an hour ago and told me he had a typo and has now found it and its ordered for me. Your part number is exact and right and it is the latest number too. I think I will see how it looks with the white stitching first, as my S3 now has a white leather interior. Its a low milage car that was stood up for quite a while so I've been touching her up slowly. The ambient light mod was first on my list and I delighted this forum is still alive and kicking well.

I sold my MTM monster a few years back and just got myself a low milage 2003 model a few weeks ago. Loving even though its standard, makes my VR6 Corrado seem so dated but I still love the look of the Corrado.

Has your car ever been sat in Hoggy? Your interior looks factory fresh.

Haha yeah it's only just done 50k the passenger seat has seen next to no use as I have no friends!

Done it !
well impressed with the feel/look,kept the original gaiter

£62 PLUS THE VAT.....

For a gear knob?? did i read that right.....

with a gaiter as well (which is too wide)
it was 120 quid a year or so ago so were all happy bunnies

Like anything they're worth whatever someone will pay for them.

People are buying them....

And as my knob was pretty wrecked I was willing to pay it for the gear knob and gaitor... Fitted it today along with my Forge quick-shift and wow what a difference. White stitching looks lovely with my cream interior and loving the short shift.... Didn't adust it to it's full shortness and I thought it was actually to short for my liking so 85% their and it's perfect.... One happy bunny not a cheap mod but in my opinion well worth while.

You jammy swine.... I spend about £300 a month of fuel and 90% of thats just to get to work and back :(

i would spend more if i could afford it! if i use that fuel before the month is up one of us is going without something so the car can have a splash of jank! I used to have the work van for commuting. Dont know what ill do now i aint got that!!

Tis a nice addition. The chrome was peeling on my original one so good exchuse.

I got knob envy at the pod at Sunday after looking at Vorhees' knob.

I think there may have been a conversation that involved finding an insecure S3 and me crossing the '6' out on one :)
