Hi i have an audi a3 1.8t aum engine remapped stage 1 and i am thinking of getting a forge 007p and i was just wondering what kind of difference this would make to the performance? and sound?
also what do i need to fit this is it just the dv or do i have to buy a fitting kit aswell?
thanks

with the forge 007p its just a straight replacement of the standard bosh one so you wont need any fitting kit. As for sound there isnt really much maybe just a little but will be slight improved by adding a performance panel filter or induction kit. Performance wise, its suppose to allow the boost to hold better between coming on and off the accelerator. I hope im right but Im sure somebody will comfirm.
Its used by many people here and recommended by virtually anyone on here.

Hi your right i have one, also you can turn the dv around for more boost noice but one of the best dv about forge 007p all the way,10 min fitting time to

They're a lot more durable then the standard valve and a lot better at holding boost.

Basically a straight swap so you'll just need new jubilee clips.

its a question of how many times your gonna change your standard DV....OEM from dealer is £20 so you'd have to get through 4 at the very least to make it worth while......

JBS are currently cheapest for the 007p valves

Thanks for the heads up, was actually considering get a standard Bosch dv, don't believe the Forge "propaganda" and "marketing"

to be fair mate i had the same thoughts for some time (hate buying things for the sake of it)......... i then borrowed a neighbours 007p for a day to see if it cured my dodgy boost delivery, it didnt but it seemed a tad sharper, safe to say i went straight to JBS and bought one - still dont know if its the placebo effect or not so i leave it up to you as i cant confirm the benefit (least of all now as i have lived with it for a few months)

I protested against them for well over a year before buying so know exactly where you are ;)

So what was your boost issue and how did you sort it

Hey iv just been reading over what you guys have been saying about the forge dv I'm going to buy one hopefully this week and I dont want to sound like an idiot but how easy is it to fit is it less involved in fitting a panel filter???

its just a subtle juddering every now and again, still not sorted and fed up of replacing things!! unsure what to change next.... its that subtle JBS couldnt spot it when i paid for a diagnosis session

if your old DV is original the hardest thing is removing the old OEM clips, after that its a simple case of removing the old DV and replacing with the 007P - essentially three jubille clips - simples

Cheerz for the quick reply 1animal1 you never dissapoint when needing help!!!

cheers guys for all the help :)
also does anyone know where i can get a full set of samco or forge hoses for my engine bay?

S3KO4..

Sadly incorrect price on there web page they are still £71.96+post

Phil.. replied to your pm...

i didnt even change the clips. bit of fairy on the old dv pulled it off and put the new forge in after again aided with a bit of fairy. i replaced the thin boost hose off the top with silicon hose as mine one had perished.

I could swear, they have just changed it back, it was down to 49,87. thats why I added the link. Strange

How good is the standard one? I don’t care about reliability, is it good enough with stage 1 and other modes or it won’t flow enough boost etc. I am going Santa pod so I don’t want to gamble with cheaper aftermarket DV I have that has no make on it. also compared to the spliter R, which I had previously, which would you rather have?

I know 007p is the best, but given the options of above what would be your choice!

just out of interest, why has everyone suggested the forge 007p and seemingly overlooked the bailey dv30? any particular reason?

i know just about everyone on here has a 007p so they will be biased, but surely the dv30 is just as good? or does it all come down to price?

the 007p is regarded as being a nice bit of kit but expensive....if the bailey is more then thats your answer, the argument for the OEM versus Forge is compelling...... the Bailey wont even get a look in if its even pricier

I'd like to know too, running stage 1 on the standard Bosch DV.

i changed mine when i had it mapped just incase, yet it was fine - now a spare - the one i replaced after almost 2 years with the map was and still is spot on as you would expect

Thanks animal, I just did that, replaced the aftermarket one with the Bosch one, feels a loot quicker on gear changes, so I think I will stick until stage 2.

how do you guys rate the pipercoss panel filters? i feel its good quality but looks more ristricted than the paper?

paper will be fine upto 300bhp mate, only reason to change is a slight whoosh noise, no gains im afraid

I have a Bailey dv30:), can't say anything bad about it. I think Forge or the Bailey are both reliable dv's, i don't think there's much difference in price, think i paid around £80 for mine last year. I wasgoing to go for the APR dv but that's quite an expensive one lol

forge 007p is £70/80
baileys dv30 is £80/90

so no massive difference in price and no massive difference in product, think the forge may a give a slightly more audible woosh noise than the dv30, but with the dv30 you dont have to mess about with different coloured springs depending on your map, not as far as im aware anyway

i got the dv30 and have no issues with it, took it apart and cleaned it when i got the car, grease was fried due to it being on the hot side but was still working fine

well no haha
i mean like what else would i have to get?
i know to get audi tt or s3 injectors and a different downpipe

ideally you want:
bigger injectors
fmic
3" dp
exhaust system (miltek)
custom map

and as ever when increasing your bhp, you wanna increase your ability to stop quickly so think of upgrading your brakes
and then you'll be wanting to go round corners quicker, so suspension
the list is potentially endless...

What's this mentioning of turning the 007p round for louder noise? I have a 007p and the noise is hardly noticeable. Do they still work in the same way if you mount them in reverse??

Anyone done it?? Thanks

Hi
My son ran his 007P the other way round for nearly 4 years
No issues at all
He did love the sound and as he had a CAI on his Golf Gti , it did sound quite a bit louder
He loved it :D
Sarah

I done it and it sounds bawbagz :/ like a little gay whistle so im changunf it back :) lol

how does running it in reverse work? Won't the vacumm pipe open the valve and leak all you boost when your on full throttle and close it when you come off the throttle??

Edit: Oh no, ive just drawn it, it does work
