MOT Today....

My a3 failed on emission not too long ago, the mechanic suggested puttin redex into the a3 and then booting it around for about 30minz and then take it bak to the mot centre. Worked like a charm

doubt his problem is down to a 'dirty' engine as he only rebuilt it 3 or 4 weeks ago, although im sure he would love to put some redex in his fuel and watch all his problems wash away :)

You know me too well dude! lol. It won't be that sort of issue pal.

That may work if you aren't much over on emissions. Mine was catastrophically high!! lol.

Should be OK now. Average MPG is climbing also after resolving lambda controller issues. :icon_thumright:

fingers crossed all should be well tomorrow on retest....

Yay!! Straight through by miles. No problemo.

Had VAG COM plugged in at the same time just to check it was behaving itself.

Once nice shiny green ticket for the S3. :icon_thumright:

does the car drive better with everything working as it should now?

Not really mate to be honest. The issue that I had wouldn't affect the engine at WOT.

However, exhaust gases smell a LOT less fruity and average MPG has gone up from 18.2 MPG to 21.7 MPG.

sorry, forgot about that

easier on the pocket now i suppose

LOL, only marginally. What with fuel costing the £4.2 million per litre is does. Especially the good stuff.

Still, around town, it is noticeably better on fuel I must say. Although I do still seem to be putting fuel in it every 2 mins.

glad it went through matey, at least it was a simple fix for once ;)
