So i've been looking to do this since i got my car and couldnt find the bumper and bonnet anywhere, to buy

Now i've found somebody on ebay who wants over £550 for them both!

How much should i look on spending to get the complete bumper with grill and fogs and how much for the bonnet

Need them in black!
Or would I be better buying any bumper and bonnet then getting them sprayed?

There are a lot of threads on this already.

Personally, I would not be spending £550 on second hand bonnet and bumper - have you checked german ebay?

Priced them new?
 
Checked with Liverpool audi and it's £500 for both a sline bumper and bonnet, that's unprimed and sprayed

Not checked german ebay but i'll have a look now nice one!
 
Bumpers are worth next to nothing, Seen them for sale at anywhere between £50 and £100, bonnets about the same.

I would bank on them needing to be resprayed to be honest, unless you find an honest ebayer the following will be translated as follows :

Minor Stone chips - Been in a sand blasting tank
Slight scuff - Scuffed along tarmac for a few hundred yards.

From recent personal experience, anyway, lol.
 
Same here when I bought a bumper for my last car, that's why I don't want to spend much!

I might as well offer him £90 for the bonnet and just keep waiting for somebody to throw a complete sline bumper on, which i've been doing for the past 3 months!

Can't win
 
I got my s-line bumper from ebay for 50 in black which was the right colour... The s-line grill on ebay 50 the fogs from ebay BARGAIN for 26 each and bought the fog covers from audi 25 each :)

If i was to look for them in different parts like that

what would i search to get the fogs just "audi a3 fogs?" then ask the buyer if they would fit?

And i dont understand the last part of your post, lol

Do you have a link to the listing where you bought the fogs from? Was it a shop or did you just drop lucky with them being from a 8P2 Sline?

I need the fogs there are loads on ebay but i am not convinced they are the right ones!

s line fogs on ebay = hens teeth.

smthy fell very lucky with her fogs ....jammy git! I couldn't be ***** to wait any longer, so I bit the bullet and bought them new.

Pricey though! As with everything from Audi :)

Do you have the part numbers of the fogs/wiring/grills for the s line bumper?

8P4 807 681 F fog light grill

8P4 807 682 F fog light grill

Sorry dont know the plug p/no's as I used a kufatec loom as I retro'd the fogs

I'm going to be doing the S3 conversion very soon so my Bumper and grill will e up for sale.

Not sure if the fogs are the same or not???

Just been to liverpool audi and it was
£148 for the black grill!
+ another £48 for the plate holder thing!

And thanks bambam but i'm trying to find one already my color because i really cba with the hassle of getting it resprayed! Might be of use to somebody else though

Do you know or can you tell if the bumper has the head lamp washer jet holes???? Seems lots are getting sorted with the S Line bumpers now but mine has xenons so I need the holes!!!!! They are more like hens teeth lol

I'm in the same situation on the xenon front. In the end I got a standard s-line bumper and found that it has has the clips and markings at the back for the washer jet holes (I guess they all do).

As I'll be getting my front end resprayed by a friend (he has a bodyshop) I asked how difficult it would be to cut the washer jet holes out of the bumper before he fits it... He reckons it's fiddly but not too difficult - time will tell.

If he isnt confident when he comes to do it I'll reluctantly disable the washer jets.

Has anyone attempted this in the past?

You'll ahve to let me know how you get on adapting the bumper. When you say the clips etc are there, is that the places for the spring loaded brackets to fix to??? I was wondering how they would attach if i'd done the same cos i'm fed up of waiting for one to come along and now need to make sure its S Line rather than S3 (but im tempted)
 
Yeah, by clips I meant the mouldings/fixings for securing the washer jets - I've taken some pics to give you an idea...

thanks, thats really helpful. Looks like its even marked where to do the cuts too! So I take it all thats needed is the cover, and brackets/springs that hinge out when the washer works?? Might well be an option for me too then.

This I dont know - I was under the impression that the existing washer jets and covers will be fine therefore it's just a case of fixing them to the new bumper - thus no need to buy anything new relating to washer jets.

Hopefully someone can confirm that the washer jets and covers on an 8P1 are identical to an 8P2's?

Just sent this person £300 for a "brand new" s line bumper and grill bumper is primed and needs to be resprayed

Do you think he might try and scam? He asked me to just send the money on paypal now and he can go down to ups and get it sent, he said because if he puts it on ebay he will get charged mroe for putting it up meaning he will have to charge more

im scared
 
An 08 bonnet will be fine wont it?

What fog stuff do I need to get? Some fella told me I should only need to get fog surrounds and my old fogs will fit in them?

prefacelift 08 one will fit it but the facelift happened around then so you need to ask the questions before buying

You've been fed a kipper there my boy!

You need s line/s3 fogs and s line grills
 
AHHH Good point phil.

I foolishly assume that if someone is doing a bumper upgrade, they are going sline/s3 :)

Me bad!
