Man, I have been made redndant after eight years working for LloydsTSB

The Bad news

- My baby is a company car, and goes back with the job - no more audi ownership for me
- my job is sweet, get paid good money for doing something i really enjoy - its all over !

The good news

-Lex have offered to sell me my Audi for a piffling £12400 quid - result ! its worth 18k at least and i get to be spend the summer off work with my car to bounce around in (assuming i dont get the job below)
- I think i have found a new job within walking distance from my house for similar money

all said and done its not a bad thing, every cloud and all that :)
 
Good luck mate, the current climate is not the best, so fingers crossed for you and hope the job that you have lined up works out for you.

Redundancy sucks balls big time, happened to me 18 months ago....
 
I've been through this - Bad times mate.

My wife is at risk now with RBS... (Praying for the money!!)

All things happen for a reason mate - You'll own that nice cab, and be able to walk to work - Good times :icon_thumright:

well, i dont have a new job to go too...but i have bought the A4 Cab, so very pleased

I am making a decent amount share dealing / spreadbetting at the mo' so will hopefuly get to enjoy the summer in the gym/at car shows etc etc

hey, dont forget to sponsor me in my drive to barcelona in may...www.barcelonaforcastlefields.co.uk...trying to raise 10k for charity...

I should really get some more pics of my motor...here is one tho',

not been able to mod it so far (bluefin aside) as was a company car prior to them dropping me from the payroll...but now its all mine i shall be having some fun with it :)

Aw, chin up, least you'll be going in style. Things will pick up! Sure you will get sorted when you are ready to ...(after the gym, car shows etc lol)

hey.... thats my beast i am driving to barcelona this may in the barcelona bangers rally.....its supposed to resemble "chick hicks" from disney pixars "cars" !!

we were only allowed to spend £200 quid on a car...they were the rules !!!

i think it looks the shizzle (in a bag over the head whilst driving kinda way)
 
yeah its a volvo...with 330,000 miles on the clock, and i am relying on it getting me from the U.k, to calais then lyon, then nice, then barcelona, then back through europe to the uk again...

do you think i will make it ???? ("will you ********" i hear you shout)

it will be fun trying though
 
Out of curiosity, who do you deal shares through, is it a per sale charge or monthly cost, any pointers?
 
to be fair..choosing the share dealing company is the easy bit..but i use Lloydstsb sharedealing for my "shares" - i get a staff rate of about £9 a trade

for spreadbetting i use tradefair and paddypowertrader, but i am told etrade is better, i just cant be ***** to change.

if you want to get started sharedealing i suggest you read robbie burns's book, the naked trader, he is a sound fella and knows his stuff...

then check out sites like www.advfn.com , www.iii.com, www.cityindex.co.uk, www.lse.co.uk for tips on getting started / research etc...just dont listen to any of the ******** in the chat forums...

....if you need any more info just give me a shout...would be happy to bore you to tears on the subject
 
well, my first unemployed day has been a success....

-i have used some nano technology stuff to clean the alloys
-i have filled in my scratched with some black polish stuff
-I have debugged and tarred my body work
-I have washed the car to get rid of said abbrasives
-i have mowed the lawn
-i have picked up dog stools of the lawn
-i have re arranged my shed
- i am back in profit on my dodgy oil expoloration shares !!

tomorrow will be exhaust pipe brasso'ing time, and i will be getting my wax on to seal in all my grafting today !!

lol - £200 including the spray job?! Can you leave it out in Barca... :)
 
no we blagged the spray job for free...as we are doing it for charity, as were the decals
