Just bought a late 2007 model audi a4 s line saloon, showing 24k miles, but the front seat fabric is already showing a slight fraying/bobbling/fuzziness, this is quite worrying to me.

is this normal/acceptable as the car has been purchased from an authorised main dealer franchise and am not very good at complaining.

Mine has 92k and the seats are like new still. Yours must have been gotten in and out of alot to wear that quick. I would certainly query it with the dealer.

its quiet easy if you have keys or sharp objects in ur back pocket. i did mine that way but you can put plucks back a but with a needle.

i would prob say dealer would class as wear and tear and wipe there hands of it to be honest with you.

mine went like that after i scrubbed them to remove a stain.
Shave them with a razor mate, they'll come up like new. This is an old trick that works on clothes too

I would say on a 3 year old car with that few miles on, a main dealer would sort something out if you push for it, however it would have been easier before you bought it.

well i wouldnt say a dealer would go out of its way to change the seats in it but maybe nock a few £ off, i mean at the end of the day there after the easy sales.. we all know that, either the car had previous owner that had dogs? or just didnt take care, however like previous people said, theres are ok, mine is a 07 and has no plucks / fading or obvious wear unless ive done it personally. so it has only got to be done to wear and tear and unfortunalty there isnt much that can be done.

however if you have only just brought the car i belive from dealer there is a 30day no questions asked return. so might be worth arguing ur case. even if it doent get anywhere u never know unless u try.

I've got 70K on a B7 and the seats are still fine! Do you have access to vag-com, as you if you are worried about it being clock you can get an estimated mileage off the engine.

these seats bobble very easily when scrubbed but its very easily rectified with a razor. It could be summit simple as in a spillage or stain like mine. People do spill things in cars!

Shave it with a cheap razor and it'll be as good as new, there, problem sorted :)
