right got all my cruise control parts fitted, Took the car to Audi to have it coded, They cant code it as the horse shoe part is not compatible with my car, its the one Ending with "Q" I was not charged for the time as they are rather good to me at my local main dealer,

But when i was doing the hard wear upgrade i took all the old parts out and found the horse she part was already in place, it just needed the cruise control stalk adding, So the Audi tech said to put the old one back in and just fit the stalk and then have another bash at it,

failing that they would need to order in the right part number for my car from the parts dept,

Have i or they missed something out here?

I think you have got mixed up with the modules

What is the complete code of the module you have taken out as I cant find one with "F" revision
The one you have put in I assume is 8E0 953 549 Q which might not be for your car model

Bit like saying I will swop you my 50p for a £5 note :lmfao:

I hear what your saying,

BTBH im told by my local main Audi dealer that i need "N" to get my cruise control to work with my car with there Audi system, Audi will only charge me £20 to code the "N" bit if it works, and the "Q" will cost me £50 and a trip to hemel hempsted to get loaded with VAG COM by a cruise control so called expert,

So really im not going to lose anything by trying, Should the "N" not do the job then i will have to keep the "Q" and send the "N" back,

At the end of the day all i want is the cruise control thing to work, But the strange thing is i most probably wont use that option very often apart from when i do my yearly drive to Turkey and back,

:icon_thumright:

WHY they both go for £45 on ebay he does not want a fbmfsw i do he wants an N i want a Q is this not a fair trade do i need to offer money as well is the Q 10 times better than an N?

NUT, id say they both have the same value to each other, seeing as both of you NEED the others, makes sense to me !

TURK, is the so called expert at hemel hazzy days by any chance lol ??? stay away ! greedy **** that states hes fitting stuff he aint etc !!

Have you got VAG-COM??
If you have drop me a PM with a full Fault Scan...

I have the Q module in mine and it works fine, so you shouldn't have any problems either.
It sounds like you just need someone with VAG-COM to code it up correctly if you don't have it yourself.

Cheers
Chris

If for any reason you are near Watford on Monday I can code your "Q" for you, I have an "N" aswell if that didn't work.

Like everybody else has said:
"N" is cruise
"Q" is cruise and multi function steering wheel

I dont have VAG COM at the mo, but i may just get it as it seems it can become a very useful tool to have,

nige ( NHN ) on here is your best bet mate, hes the cheapest too, full genuine one special delivery and full support

MFSW works with N doesn't it? Just Q supports heated steering wheels?

If we swap i can program it for you, thought you had vag-com any way the offer is still there

Ok, I want to join in on this :) I'm looking for a SWCM for my A4 B6 so I can get cruise installed..so If anyone has one they want shot of.. please pm away :)

OK guys, just to throw a rather large spanner in the works i have one here part # 8E0 953 549 P, i take it i have a"p" module so what the ****** hell does that support?
Thanks in advance and as i say sorry to hijack:icon_thumright:

I already had hijacked it Matt..asking for a SWCM if anyone had one :)

Iv seen that one on ebay and that one ends in a "F" that wont work, so im told!

Seems strange as it's being sold as a complete unit, i think we all need someone to clarify what will and what won't work:icon_thumright:

Sorry to wee on your parade, the "N" does support MFSW but only the B6 one

"Q" is the lowest that supports the B7 and others. you also will need a new slip ring aswell with newer wheels

Nice wheels:eyebrows:

just to comfirm what blacky said, i have a B6 cab and i had the older style multi wheel which he posted above, when i upgraded to my newer wheel and added cruise, i had to change both my module and my slipring as the older b6 ones, although i had the function already were NOT compatible.
heres my new one along with cruise.

Ahh ok only B6 MFSW`s thats ok they are cheaper to buy but dont look very nice.

To be honest i dont think i will do the MFSW upgrade but at least i know what to look for if i do.

Cheers guys
