Has anyone upgraded to aero wipers recently? There seem to be a lot available on the bay at differing prices. Some just hook fitment and some replacing both blade and arm at over £100. I can't seem to tnx any recent posts on any of the forums and don't want to buy some *****. Any ideas?

the later passat ones look smart and work but are expensive, the bosch aerotwin ones are the same blades but attach to o.e arms the cheaper ones work ok but look a bit naff
I ran B6 arms with adapters. much better fitment that the Passat ones but they are just that little bit the wrong shape.
now run Passat aero from VAGparts (when they were around)

The Bay ones are "ok". I have had a set now for 3 months. They look alright and perform pretty well!

I can't remember what ebay seller I got mine from. They(got the 2 front and the 1 rear) were only £14 delivered! If I came across a Passat in my breakers then I would attack it like a rapist. Untill then, these will do!

There's a 2005 Passat in my local breakers I'm trying to get hold of. They're trying to sell the whole car complete but I will see if I can just get the arms and blades if I ask nicely

Bosch Aerotwin retrofit, new style blades but use the old wiper arms (hook fitment) ; off Ebay for about £18-£25, depending on the seller.......

I had a set of those conversion blades and found them to be rubbish.
With mine the "spoiler" ended up upside down on UK cars, presumably because they're designed for euro models, and looking at the pic above the bosch ones arent much better. that means they tend to lift off the screen at speed. I also found that the "springyness" wasnt enough for the passenger side, and the blade would miss the bottom of the window where its heavily curved.

I've got a set of Passat aero wiper arms + blades coming today/tomorrow. Not sure which car to fit them to though... my new Mk2 Jetta or Rach's TT!
They only cost me £25 inc. postage! Do a search on eBay for Passats that are being broken. That's what I did. Out of the 4 that I chose, one came up trumps!
This is the one that mine came from... so no point in asking about it!

I find the Bosch retrofit great, in fact am on my 2nd set.
I accept that they don't curve down perfectly to meet the angle of the screen at the very end of the passenger side blade but as I dont carry many midgets as passengers being able to see that strip of windscreen 1 inch above the dash line isn't important.............

Thanks for all the input guys. Finally bought some eBay specials £10 for the fronts and £5 for the rear. They're retrofit ones but not Bosch. Figured they'd do as a temp measure whilst I sourced some passat ones, but they are great and look fine with the existing arms. Happy enough for the 15 quid, just got to see how long they last, lol.
How's your £10 ebay wipers doin ? Do you know what seller you got them from ?

look very OE tooas per recent post, just got my second set of bosch aerotwins £30 delivered off fleabay. Don't know if thats a good price or not. I read the earlier post saying they look naf? I don't think so. Look good. I've also not noticed the passenger side far end does not get wiped!
They are going ok, however I noticed if it really chicks it down the drivers side wiper fails to clear all the water as if there is too much for it to cope with. Which results in a river right in the line of site. Difficult to say whether any other wipers would have been better as it only happens when the rain is very, very heavy. May try the Bosch ones next.
