Side light bulbs - any recommendations?

My S3 has Xenons but the side lights look like candles when both are on.

Can anyone make any recommendations for some decent looking repalcements that are a little brighter please?

LED side lights are most people's choice. There are a massive range, from numerous sources, including eBay. Mine are 1W (watt) LED sidelights and match the xenons quite well.

Make sure you buy from a reputable seller as some (including forum users in the past) have sold cheap ones that flicker and fail in weeks.

I have tried allsorts! (no not liquorish) best i found were Phillips Blue vision 5w, take the yellow away and leave a slight tint of blue:icon_thumright:

THESE are what I bought. They are a bit pricey but they give a really nice bright light, not too blue, a really nice match for the oem HIDs.

Looks like the Ultra LED's ones are out of stock.

Will I have to do any modifications to the wiring? I think I read somewhere that the car could detect it as if a bulb had gone.

No it ok with the side lights! any other bulbs like indcators ect do give warnings!

The warning signs do occur with the sidelights too as it happened to me.

I bought a set similar to these. Apparently the SMD ones last longer and do not flicker etc. Give off a very white light! My standard H7s look yellow in comparison! Time for a HID conversion methinks...

No, just "bulb out" due to LEDs only drawing a fraction of the energy normal filament bulbs require, so the car doesn't realise there is one fitted.
