right i have got hold of a mf rs6 steering wheel with rs6 airbag for my 2007 s3 but the airbag harness does not fit the plug on the slip ring on my car, could someone please tell me what harness i need part no etc

i tried making the plug fit by clipping of some bits which were stopping the plug from going on but when plugged in the horn does not work so im sure i need a new harness thanks

And so has Matt Andrew,i would ask him,he is the technical man

right managed to rewire the old harness so it all fits and works for now but the new steering wheel has mf which i didnt have before will it work when i get the new harness or do i need a new slip ring etc?
my car has cruise control if that makes a difference think i read somewhere it does? thanks

I would not reccommend that has the wiring is different, it may cause an airbag malfunction

Give N8 a shout mate, he's already done this mod ;-)

with assistance

Jules you are fairly technical, metal to metal is ok isnt it

Ask Matt, he's the brains of the operation, I'm just the looks :slap:

and the detailer

You need to check which ECU you have, either with vagcom or looking at sticker on module, the car will need coding for multifunction. some modules only do cruise. I remember the wiring been different on the rs6 multifunction.

The best thing to do which i would do would be to order the wiring loom from audi for a S3 with a flat bottom wheel with MF (about £20 IIRC). This will ensure you get the correct wiring as you dont want a airbag malfunction

Does anyone know the part number for a mf airbag harness as I rang Audi today and they said I need a part number and also they tried saying that it comes as a set with slip ring?

From watching NHN do mine, you need a new slip ring, new module and VagCom to code it all :)
