Hi all.

As my title says, I do have a nice dream.

My A3 SportBack is a 2,0TDI Quattro 140Bhp.
I am from Norway and I absolutely must have a 4wd car.
My next must have thing is automatic trancemission, this is spesialy god on a diesel car.

So my wet dream is installing a DSG box on my car.
Since I know nothing about the DSG box I turn to you folks.:jump:

Is it doable in a reasonbly way? I then think of the enging bay against the firewall, pedal box section and the centre consoal for the shifter.
The wiering and signals to the ECU is also a point.

If this is to be don I will also upgrade to the 2,0TDI 170Bhp engine.
The VW Passat is dellivered with this engine combined with the DSG and Haldex output shaft for the rear haldex diff.
Does anyone knows if the gear ratio is the same?

I would be so happy if any one has any coments on this.

I would suggest just buying that car instead of installing the dsg, i see many problems and cost

Yeah doable but more than the cost of selling and buying one that comes as standard, plus there is agro that goes with the install!

Hi.

Thanks for the interest.
The problem is that this spec is not delivered
from the factory!

I have only seen it with the 2,0TFSI engine.
And that is to expensive. £80.000

So I have to stick with the TDI, and that would the first of it's kinde. I think.

I know about the work no problems with that.
Just needs some feed backs from the experts

Don't think it's possible, it used to be only the 3.2 that could be fitted with both. Now I think it's just the S3 and 2.0TFSi that has that option

Wy is it not possible? The 3,2 has it. 2,0TFSI Has it.
Wy not the TDI?

The TDI would be perfect with the DSG. I feel that the TDI
cars has a weary narrow rpm band so this means more shifts on gears.

Any tech people here?

Ok. So what was the reason that this is not
possible? Is it the firewall or is it the
electric?

I know that I can not use the DSG from the
petrol engine hens the gear ratio.

My plan was to use the passat TDI/4Motio/DSG drive line

So if it is room in the E-bay it should be possible!

On witch point did you stop?

I have no idea man, but I took the DSG over the 4wd, as the FWD handles well enough, and you lose alot of power through the drivetrain anyway unless running big power..

I do not like my wheel spinning off
when entering inn a roundabout or
having a quick flying start in the wet
and snowy weather.

As statet abowe. This is a dream that
might be possible to be don.
Such a build needs research and this is what
I have started her.

It's my understanding that originally only the 3.2 could be fitted with both, obviously that issue has now been solved with the later gearbox but if the ratios are different then it rules that out as well.
Best of luck...........You'll need it!

Didn't think about the quattro part of it! The DSG box won't have any way to connect the transfer box when mounted transversely

My car only wheel spins in the wet when I'm floorin it, but apart from that its fine to be fair..

mines ok too!..................but having been to Norway and sampled the weather there, I would think quattro is a must!

Sounds like a nightmare!

Good luck, by the sounds of it, you are going to need it:)

Il have to use the DSG w/4wd output.

Ok guys. Don't get me wrong. I dint need to
disscuse the need of awd or DSG.

I whant bouth and that's it. I am thank full for the replyes

does Anyone have any tech expiriance on this?

On www.audi.ro ia was able to configure an A3 (not sportback) 2.0 TDI (170) with quattro and DSG. I gave them a call and confirmed that the option is correct, not an error of the configurator. The option was introduced only recently for both TDI and TFSI engines. You should ask a dealer about this.
