Aberdeen meet

hi just got my first 02 S3 a couple of weeks ago and havent had a good run out yet would be nice to come along and meet up maybe get hooked up to vag com and checked over by someone who knows what to look for.

good point on the vagcom, if my laptops back from refurb by then (though i doubt it :() ill try and bring it

Well I have been told that the car is still in Germany so hopefully it will be on the boat tomorrow they said. With any luck I'll have it by the 29th, if not then I don't think I'll be able to make it... Even if I do manage to collect on the 29th then I don't know if I'll have the S3 brakes on, but I'll try! So excited so I really hope that I get the car!

I'd be well up for this when I get my new motor. Still rockin' my 03 A3 tdi :(. But currently shopping around for an 8L S3! So is there going to be a couple of meets a month or just purely whenever its organised..?

Hi Blair, I think the ntention is to try and make the mee a regular thing, but one a week might be a bit too much. Once a month or every other month would be sound.

I'll make every meet until June and then life changes with our first baby, so might be absent from a few!
 
Yeah once a month sounds good lets see how things go for the first meet. Ill only be along during the summer months anyway once it gets miserable at home ill be staying away

audi upgrades
It's a great car, quattro was realy good when the roads were bad.

Has a healthy appetite for tyres, i needed a full set at just under 10K.

I would like to get mine chipped but keep hearing bad things about doing it to the 170 engine
 
Ah, I'll have to bear that in mind about the tires...

What have you heard about chipping the 170? I have a chip already but don't want to stick it on if it's gonna fry the turbo or something! lol.
 
along the lines of it does something weird to the DPF and you have to be careful of going over 200hp.

What one have you got for your's.

Sure i am speaking out of my ar*e as with all forums you normally only hear folk going on about them when things go wrong.

Just after i got my car, Aberdeen Audi told me they could have got it chipped for me, so they would know better than me:icon_thumright:
 
If they're offering then it can't be all bad! :)

I got mine from chipexpress.com since I heard good things about them from a few people. It's designed to take it up to 190-200 so should still be less than the magic 200. I've heard that about the DPF issue as well so it can't be all completely wrong!
 
just had a look at them, looks good.

motorwerks in Aberdeen get good reports for their remaps.

i spoke to the guy and he was really good and full of good advise, might look back into it if the wife will allow it

Wish i had got it done when i ordered the car, but it's a company car on a lease so was a bit worried:)

I posted a couple of PM's on Eastside for all of the Audi owners, see if they fancied it also. A few can't make it, but waiting on other replies.

Looks like my piano inlays will still be in (boo!), but I'm chasing Audi down...

yip, should've put money on it to be fair. I checked, confirmed, double checked and double confirmed with them. Even printed out my copy of the order and took it with me on March 1st. Walked up to car, driver's door was opened and my first words, not "wow, can't wait to drive my new car", but "eh, that's wrong". To be fair though, they immediately said they'd find a donor car and have it changed. Should hopefully be in next week for the change.

Looks like A3/S3 Black Edition means Black inlays, whatever you order. Luckily I've got written evidence on Audi paper though. It does match the back of the buckets like, but I don't see the backs of the seats when I'm driving.
 
Woohoo just got the confirmation im out on sunday night to dubai so will be back home on friday thank ****. Fingers crossed for good weather so i can get my bits fitted before the meet
 
That's great news!

Well, on a different note I have been told by my other half that she wants to come along... I know we agreed no other halves but it's either that or I might not be able to make it (can you say b!tch whipped?!). She is a petrol head so there won't be any talk of pretty, shiny bits but instead about how much power there is on tap and how nice the turbo sounds. Strange woman, I know. :tocktock: lol.

Looking forward to it though, praying for good weather!
 
Hope there's going to be some other older cars there too. Everyone seems to picking up there brand spankers machines. All shiney and squeek/rattle free with no marks or dents or any other signs of use as an everyday motor :crying: . All your bits will still be sparkly
 
haha my 53 plate will be there but i warn you it may not sparkle but it is shiney, i may also have a project car by then but it wont be drivable for a few months haha

F*ckin' typical, best laid plans and all that. Informed today that "the family" has arranged an Easter Sunday get-together on the 4th with all Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, so looks like I'll have to pull out. I've tried to get out of it, but her indoors isn't moving on it.

I'll be able to pop along to Banchory for 11 and catch a quick ******** with you all, but afraid that'll be that. I'll hopefully be able to attend the next one though, in fact, have stipulated that as a major clause in the now referred to "Easter Contract". **** happens, sorry loons, but will catch you early next Sunday.

Oh aye, nearly forgot, best of luck with the pick up tomorrow Dan. Good luck trying to get to sleep tonight. :icon_thumright:

Thanks for that, I think it might actually end up an all nighter! lol.

Real shame that you can't come along for the day but at the same time it's nice to hear that you'll be able to come along for the morning at least!

Make sure you get that contract in writing with plenty of signatures and I guess we'll see you on Sunday.

looks like ill have to pull out, been asked to stay on the rig for an extra week so i wont be home until the 6th

I'm stiil in and agree once a month would be fine. Although i'm out of Aberdeen by Sept, so will have to find a new gang :)
