One of the comments said the lorry is braking slowly so as not to flip the Clio ..... looks like his brake lights are on?

It's difficult to tell but if that's true then that's amazing thinking from the driver. I'd have never thought of that.

Unless he's just very experienced :scared2:

Your right, his car pushing skills are clearly unmatched!

I second that... harsh braking would surely flip the car... how could he have possibly hit the car and not know its still attached to him.

I imagine the car would need 4 new tyres afterwards. Might be a bit flat on one section...

Cheers,

**** me.. i never seen a clio moveing so fast!!!

Dramatic footage has emerged of a lorry apparently pushing a car sideways along a motorway in Yorkshire.

The footage, which was posted on YouTube, shows the truck travelling along the A1(M) near Wetherby with the Clio trapped under its front bumper.

The scene was filmed on a mobile phone by another motorist. At one point someone shouts "he hasn't seen it".

The owners of the lorry, Cheshire-based Arclid Transport, and West Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident.

A spokesman from the company said: "There was an incident between a car and one of our vehicles in January.

"Since seeing the footage from YouTube were are investigating."

He added that he believed the female driver of the Clio had not been injured in the incident.

The company said the lorry driver was sent home on Wednesday, when the video emerged on the internet.

He added that the accident happened on 13 January and police had investigated, but to date no action had been taken against the lorry driver.

Staz can you rename the thread 'some serious sideways action in a clio' :whistle2:

That lorry wasn't a Toyota was it...?!

:undwech:

Why has it taken so long to come out??

I bet what happened was that the police were called to the scene about an RTA. By the time they got there the clio and lorry were on the hard shoulder, the Clio scraped/lightly dented down one side. The lady driver may have said she was hit or clipped the lorry and it dragged her down the motorway (may have sounded a bit far fetched/exaggerated??). Nobody was injured, the car probably wasn't that badly damaged and still driveable (the impact was probably not actually that bad since both moving at similar speeds) and the police probably just left it to the insurers. Lorry driver drives off hoping that's the end of it. Then someone posts the actual footage on youtube and you need to see that to believe it happened lol, hence police become reinterested in it.

What gets me about this footage is the guy filming it still gets off at his exit LOL.
