Hi

Recently put in an order for a A3 Sportback BE at Docklands Audi. The dealer said it would have the 10 number plate - which makes sense - but how can I tell which prefix it will have? The DVLA website is a bit vague.
He seemed to think it would be either LV, LX or LW

anyone know how you can tell? I also live in old street, n1, london

cheers

The prefix has usually something to do in the area to which the car is registered. The dealer I bought my car off (and indeed my wifes car) gave me/her the choice to pick from a list. Not very exciting I know but at least you can sort of personalise it!

As above, it's to do with where it's registered originally, not where you live

Very hard to guess what it will be, as they seem to be pretty much random nowadays

I would ring them and ask tbh, it's your money and if the choice is made by someone else and you find out you could have had the LX you will be gutted, lol

After speaking to a salesman in my local dealer the registration is geanerally just alloted to a car, I'm guessing that if you speak to them nicely lol you might be able to get LX otherwise it ill be one of the other two

LX10 *** registrations start at 399 from dvla if its that important!

I think it just depends which DVLA office your dealership uses, if its part of a group (e.g. Listers, Sytner) maybe the head office/dealership does it all for the group.

I used to buy new VW's/Audis through a broker who must of purchased them from the same dealership, all had the prefix KX even though I would pick them up from the Midlands or Luton....

*off topic*

Will you have to pay the new Showroom Tax? If so how much? Someone I know says its added nearly £1k to the price of his new Focus ST...

Serves him right for buying a Ford if you ask me! :)
