Have just got the above car, it goes well enough for what it is but have been looking at remaps and intercoolers.
Its Celtic tuning I've been looking at for the remap, anyone have any experience of them?
Also how much difference does a FMIC make?

Thanks

I've got the Upsolute remap on mine done by CCC Tech and I have no worries with it and it makes a world of difference to the cars performance. Not sure about a FMIC but some one on here will have experience of it. When I had my Leon Cupra TDi I know a lot of the guys were doing FMICs to there cars.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Thanks for that, Simon remapped my Volvo V70 T5 and was a really helpful lad. He mentioned at the time he did alot of VAG stuff.

He did my Leon as well and does a really good job and they are really good maps as well give full usable power and torque.

Sent him an email.
Can he reflash the ECU or does he need to remove chip?

Hello mate, welcome to the site.
Where abouts are you from as I'm a dealer for celtic tuning. It takes the bhp from 110 to 148 and the torque from 173 to 238 lb/ft and you will get better mpg too (if driven carefully of course).

same engine what i had in golf, they have to take ecu out and change chip i think. Worth while thought, mine went from 110 to 140, a noticable different. Felt alot smoother to drive and definately gave an improve on mpg when driving normally. An extra 3 MPG on average. Well I was always told that fmic was no worth it on 110, increased volume leads to more lag. Lots of info on tdiclub.com, some people fit larger nozzles, think you can get up near the 200bhp with a custom map.

Just remap will put a smile on your face though

When you say larger nozzles do you mean injectors, what is needed to get 200bhp?

I'm up in Teesside/North Yorkshire.
Any pros or cons over Celtic rather than Upsolute, power delivery etc?

If you get up to that sort of power, and torque, as thatll be over 300lb probably then youll need a performance clutch. isnt the way desiels increase power is by getting more fuel into them? if thats the case then bigger injectors would add bhp. maybe aswell you could get a custom remap and ask for the power delivery to be widened, if it can that is. Mpg will take a hit though.

well, nozzles on a diesel. Im sure theres more that would need doing for that, cant remember, no longer in the diesel scene lol.

Well yeah, you would sensible looking at uprating clutch and brakes. But some of the PD golf boys get there tdis over 200 on standard clutches etc.

Wouldnt bother going to mad though mate, is only a diesel after all. If you want something quicker get a 1.8t, but you never get 50+mpg. If i could id have both

Lol, had a couple of V70 T5's and an XJR nice to go fast but the fuel bills were a bit depressing.
The tdi is going alright but it seems a shame not to get a bit more poke out of it if its easy enough.....
