My two worst mods

Well saturday was spen doing yet more mods to the Avant, and i say they must have been the worst two i have done so far, first was to replace the numberplate bulbs with led, simple enough i hear you say, well so did i,ialready had two replacement lamps as i rememberd from a previous visit that the lenses were all mankey, anyway to cut a long story short, screws corroded in, so removal of boot trim,boot lock loads of wd 40, brute strength and bad language finally old ones removed, new ones fitted and i must say the result is great ( will post a couple of pics tomorrow), next was to do the RS4 pedals, nicked the wives hair dryer heated up the old ones, same process to fit the new ones,still took all day to do two of what you would think are the easiest mods out there!!

Anyway got a few days off work this week so this weeks mod is going to be illuminate the cup and card holder and also footwell ambient lighting, i plan tp do this by fitting two of the red lights that are in the doors,fit them into the cutouts were footwell lights would go and connect to the same loom i have just put in for the heater rollers and cup holder ect,

All those things are at various places on my 'to do' list so I'll follow with interest! I've heard the pedals are an awkward job

pedals are a bast##d !! lol just a heads up on the footwell lights, the preformed cut outs for them are there yes, however i found the drivers side one to be nowhere near centre and looked odd lit up especially against the rs4 pedals, i cut out a new whole more central and further forward.
just a heads up mate , not saying you must, try it and see

To be honest the pedals weren't as bad as i was expecting my only tip would be really heat them up with a hair dryer and they go very soft and plyable i was careful removing the old rubbers as they will be put back on when she goes, whenever that may be.

Thanks for the tip, i did wonder as the cutout is next to the vagcom plug, i also need to get the brackets for the rear ones but was going to see how the fronts look first, i work nights so spend more time in my car at night than the day so have been looking to extend the ambient lights for a while now.
