Does anyone know if you can change the inlays from piano black to matt aluminium silver ones on an A3 Sportback Black Edition?

The brochure states it can be a no cost option but my local dealer says this can't be changed.

Thanks

Sure. Just trade me  You take my brushed aluminum, and I'll take your piano black :icon_thumright:

I tried to spec aluminium inlays for my S3, however am told for the Black edition this is no longer an option as this is part of original spec and cannot be changed. So can only assume that it is also the case for the A3 as well. From what I understand this option changed in the brochure from tail end of last year.

I picked up my 1.8 BE yesterday. The design of the inlays on the doors has changed - much smaller and not curved as previously. Nowhere near as nice in my opinion - maybe the change explains why the option has been removed.

I fought like hell to get mine but to no avail............. I was also initially told that I could get them but then they backtracked and said the option had been pulled. If you have ordered in 2010 you will be very lucky to get them, if you have specced on a Black Edition !

I didn't have any problems with Reading Audi 2 weeks ago with my A3 sportback BE order, they even had a demonstrator BE with the inlays too :)

yes its a 2010 model year ordered 22 feb 1.8 tfsi BE s/tronic , dealer seems to think i will get my order , they changed it on the audi web site in march when they put the BE model on the build cofigurator .
so will have to wait and see

Thanks for all the replies there!

Just spoke to my dealer there who had emailed Audi today. He says that the brochure has been changed on the 1st march so anyone with orders from then won't get them factory fitted! I'm just having to wait now to see if any customers can swap otherwise I'm stuck with black inlays!!!

Thanks

Could be touch and go for me then too. I ordered on the 18th Feb through my company, but I'm not sure when the lease company put the order in (I also specified alu inlays instead of black). At the time the A3 brochure showed this as no cost option for A3 BE's, but not an option for S3 BE's.

I have since found out that the sportback inlays are not curved as they are on the 3 door. :(
However, the gain is an extra pair of tweeters with the bose system in the back. Swings and roundabouts!:hubbahubba:

I had this problem after ordering my car on April 30th from a brochure that Audi sent direct to me! Kicked up a stink and was offered £200 from head office! Bonus.... sometimes it's worth stamping your feet!
