Please Help Engine Trouble

[Jays Audi Turbo]

I have a a3 1.8 turbo, this morning it was fine untill this afternoon the revs started dropping and the whole car started juddering then it would rev again then it would'nt then it would cut out and then i would put my foot down and the revs would drop completley , i have a uprated recirculating dump valve and a pipercross foam filter?
Does any body have any idea's, i cleaned the throttle bodie but still no joy, please help

Ah yes i know what you mean now i have it hanging next to the airbox as i have a pipercross induction kit, does it need to be attached to the airbox etc

No it doesnt need to be attached to the airbox if you have an induction kit.

Instead of letting it hang there knock up a bracket so you can bolt it to the airbox mount on the suspenion tower in the engine bay. Check all the connections on it are clean and clipped in properly...if its hanging then they may have come un-done slightly.

Ok i'll check in moring, had it on a fault reader 2nite and lad said its MAF sensor

I agree with Tom, always go for genuine when it comes to mafs, or you'll be back on here in a few months with a similar fault if you buy a copy lol

Sometimes the maf faults can come up when they are unpluged, coming up as signal too low, best thing to do is clear the fault, take it out for a drive and then see what faults comes up. Have you put a cone on for the induction noise?

A bit of both, but am thinking of running the air filter down pass the battery and behind the bumper, would that stop the maf sensor messing up again

True but you need a fmic for the air to be cooler on intake, doesn't matter how cold the air your filter gets as soon as it hits the turbo it'll be hot lol

I have a fmic but i just need to do the pipes etc and link it all up etc
