Which parts should I grease regularly On my bikes I've always removed bolts and copper slipped them to prevent them seizing, are there any bolts prone to seizing that I should consider lubricating? I read somewhere on this forum that the suspension arm ball joints can have their service life extended by greasing them, do I simply roll back the boot and force grease in by hand? What grease do you use on your balls

slider pins on the brakes

any bolts for the subframes, suspension that go in to captive bolts

any bolts, really, that you dont want to seize

The only ones i'd do as regular maintenance is the caliper sliders.

The pinch bolt on the front suspension is a proper barsteward, IF it comes out it'd be worth greasing that up.

wheel bolts. it boils my **** when the wheel bolts are not greased.

to be fare, if its a b5 and the bolts arnt already seized then they are either already greased or wont need to be. most bolts your best waiting till you take them out for a job then grease them before re-fitting
you can slide off the rubbers on the ball joints but its not worth it really because youve more chance splitting the rubber than doing any good. once they split they dont last long.

id also grease your bonnet catch. they have a tendancy to jam.

another good one is the threads on the stearing rack. slacken the lock not off against the track rod end. then wire brush the threads, grease them and tighten the lock nut back up. makes it a hell of a lot easier when it comes to doing the tracking.

I'm cleaning the wheels up at the moment so will take the time to grease the above mentioned parts as I re fit them

Thanks all
