Just out of curiosity...is it possible?

But that's only a problem with the discs and not so much with the calipers. If you find a matching disc then it wouldn't be any problem.
At least that's what I think??

TBH, there are more suitable solutions out there... decent aftermarket discs (Black Diamond etc), DS2500 pads and Motul RBF660 fluid will sort the braking out for most people and without consumables that are that much more expensive than the std stuff...

This is a similar discussion to that of Mk4 R32 brakes... large heavy calipers and expensive discs which aren't that much better than the std S3 312 set up.

8P discs are 5x112 PCD so no good and I suspect the calipers won't fit directly to the hub anyway... if the calipers use carriers (like Brembo's etc) then you could get some made up but you would prob do as well to get a set of AP Racing 4 pots from the ebay seller I did while he still had some (£325 for the pair) and build a decent brake kit from that if bigger brakes is what you want.

8P discs and calipers may well be a different offset, finding a suitable disc to go with the calipers maybe tricky but you could get custom 2-piece setup maybe...

Seems a lot of effort + potential expense versus tried and tested solutions IMO

and his car is stadnard anyway... why are you lot so obsessed with bigger brakes?! compensating for your tiny turbos? lol

Because I spend my life trying to avoid toss pots on the road that pull out in front of me, so anything to help this is a bonus . . . ?

Not exactly a hard point to get your head around!

@tuffty

I was thinking of the 8P brakes because they would look OEM. The belgium MOT is very strict about changing things that are not original.
A BBK is also an option but I would have to change to the original brakes every year to pass the MOT.

@Matt82

Who says it will stay standard :p
And it's best to change first stuff like brakes and suspension etc then engine upgrades.

If you need to stay OEM could the brembo kit could be passed off as it was fitted to the LCR? not the cheapest of kits thou.

Figures... guessing everything needs to be TUV approved and the like...

Does make it restrictive and expensive to mod a car in the EU it would appear...

Would imagine Brembo Junior kits are TUV approved and would be a choice..

The 8P caliper carrier mounting points are spaced further apart than the 8L carriers so they wont fit :( The only good thing about them is the size of the disc at 345mm, but the caliper itself is the same as the 8L. Much better off getting a Brembo or AP kit for it.

@tuffty

even TUV doesn't count in Belgium, that's only for Germany.
That's why I need to do it as stealthy as possible.
Or I have to live with the fact that I need to change it every year. In that case I will go for a set of MOV-it's I think. I know the importer in Belgium very well so I can get it at a decent price.

@Backdraft

Thx for the info. If the calipers are the same then its' not worth the hassle.

then youre driving too fast if the OE brakes arnt capable of stopping you from driving into the cars ahead.

if youre spending all youre time doing it, theres a pattern there to be spotted. to be fair the driving standards where youre from are pretty dire considering how far up north you are

i hate the run to northwich on the a556 as youre coming upto morrisons. there are a few intersections that actually cross the dual carriageway. i dread the day some suicidal lemming tries to wipe themselves out on the front of my car

Those calipers aren't the same as 8L calipers if that pic is right... might be the same as other 8P ones though but as BDM says, carriers won't fit anyway.

Calipers on 8L models are the the same across the A3/S3 (1.8's at least), its the carriers that differ to take into account different disc diameters.

What an incredibly presumptuous post.

I've had three non-fault accidents on roundabouts and side roads in 7 years of driving. Each case either the car went into me or cut across my lane.

Pretty sure that doesn't suggest my speed is the cause of accidents.

Now if the OP or I had started with "wot breaks canna get too make ma fasta ride stop quikerly", your reaction could have been justified.

Ds3000 pads in what you have will be a significant upgrade and stealthy

Very true bill. Great bite and feel from the DS pads.

I should have said that the piston size between the 8L and 8P S3's are the same rather than the look of the calipers, but if you removed the outer frame from the 8L calipers then they would look the same as the 8P's :)
