Evenin all,

Right i am about to receive some inheritance money and i am trying to decide whether or not to do some simple reletively cheap mods to my A3 or sell it and upgrade to a 1.8t and then wait for work to start picking up again?

So what i am asking for is opinions/suggestions for basic mods and if you think there is any point on the model i have. Pics and links to items are greatly appreciated .

So far I think i am going to get new Coilovers and new alloys, other than that i don't really no where to start. If anyone has a 1.8t they want to sell then i wouldnt mind having a look either.

Might not be the answer you want, but I would buy a 1.8T.

I made the mistake of spending £000's on my 1.2 Clio. Could have bought my S3/another quick car years ago, had I not squandered pay and savings on making my 1.2 look better.

Definitely get a 1.8T. For the money you'd spend trying to make the 1.6 better, you'd be able to get a 1.8T and the jump in performance would be greater. Plus, when you've saved up more money, you've got a lot of scope to make the 1.8T faster and handle better.

Yea go for the 1.8t you will be alot happier in the long run and will be alot quicker to

I used to throw money at my corsa c 1.4 sri, should of just saved it and then i could of got my S3 sooner

Good luck and welcome to the Site

If I were you I'd save and buy a 1.8t. I have a 1.6 atm, and I'm plain bored of how slow it is. The only reason that I'm keeping it is because of the insurance premium for me on a 1.8t(6 points and no yrs no claims). I've been offered quotes of £1,500 for a 1.8t! Ridiculous...go with a 1.8t.

All depends on what you can afford. I ran up an account of several hundered quid (gotta love having a dad in the trade!) on parts for my old mk3 Polo GT. I don't regret a penny of it.
Yeah I could have saved it and put it into a re-map on my 1.8T but to be honest I loved that old polo and enjoyed spending most of my weekends covered in grease flat on my back in the garage!

So if you can afford the 1.8T and all the costs associated with it then fill your boots! But if you can't put some aside for when you can and have fun with the 1.6. just cos it's slow doesn't mean it has to look crap...

Go for the 1.8T dude, you might as well put that little bit extra in now and move forward with that, will be better for you in the long run.
