grit in my ic pipes

as the title says, removed my ic pipe leading to the throttle body yesterday just to see how dirty the tb was (planning on cleaning it saturday) and noticed a worrying amount of grit on the inside of the hose, this cant be good/normal surely as sooner or later its going to work its way into the inlet manifold/engine/turbo?

maybe even more worryingly than that is the fact that the 'grit' has what appears to be metal particles mixed in with it, i removed the hose leading from the chargepipe to fmic and that seemed clean, apart from a smear of oil which is ok right?

Hmmm the only thing i can think of is your far side intercooler could be breaking up

i got front mount mate, looking closely at the pics there seems to be flecks of red in there, my car is red?!

i thought maybe i have a split hose somewhere on the system but i would have a monumental boost leak if that was the case?

Looks like metal burrs to me. I'd say they'd be out of the FMIC as well. Only explaination surely, bit of oversight by the manufacturer?

the front mount has been fitted for years, would have thought any defects burrs that would come loose, would have done so by now, only air going through it at the end of the day, not enough to errode metal

i got two forge upper boost hoses to fit next week, might take it all apart amd have a butchers hook and see what i can see, can i flush the fmic through at all with anything?

I wouldn't have imagined that it would take material that wasn't already loose. I'd guess something like carb cleaner would be OK to flush an IC as it's fine if it gets into the engine?

got standard airbox standard filter, i could maybe understand if i had a open cone filter/induction kit sucking crap up out of the engine bay/road

and i took a closer look today and there is defo what appears to be red paint flecks in there, my car being red is too much of a coincidence dont you think?

im just worried about it getting into my cylinders/valves/turbo as some of it is quite coarse and could do some damage, especially if left
