Try this on your iPhone, it works great over 3G, and it does not cost you a penny, apart from your data allowance.

Type the following into your safari browser, register, and then you will have freeview TV to watch anywhere you like

Makes the iphone just that more special than it already was!

:icon_thumright: thanks for helping to pass the time of day at work now......

I love TV Catchup, I have my iPhone nestled in the TomTom cradle (which comes highly recommended) on my dash, cradle aux connection is hardwired into the back of my headunit, it's great Freeview in the car for those long waits etc.

I dont know it is, but there are more channels available on the P.C than on the iPhone. P.C gives you Dave, Virgin and Sky, Sky News and News Sports. Where as the iPhone only seems to have the five main channels

well I dont have those channels either on mine, but I do have 29 channels, which should be the same for anyone I would have thought, unless there is some location thing, but I doubt it as it's web based.

- BBC1
- BBC2
- ITV1
- 4
- Five
- ITV2
- Five USA
- E4
- ITV3
- ITV4
- More 4

- BBC Parliament
- Men & Motors

I can get this working on my ipod, but not on my PC. Windows 7 doesn't recognise the .m2u8 file-type, anyone else get this?

Great find by the way!

any more handy apps for the iphone boys

Other useful apps I use:

- Guitartoolkit, very handy little app and built in guitar tuner that actually works!
- TuneIn Radio, digital radio channels from all over the world, added to the above set-up I mentioned above, it means DAB in my car!!
- SKY+, fantastic app that shows sky tv guid and allows you to send record requests from within the app straight to you sky box, brilliant!
- Bebot, because it's funny!
- Photoshop Mobile (by Adobe), very useful app that has some useful photoediting functions.
- Dynolicious, great app for measuring 0-60, 1/4 mile etc etc, more accurate than you'd think and great fun
- DropBox, handy app for gaining access to your Dropbox (file cloud).

Lads iv just up graded to a iphone how do i connect it to the car iv had a look under bluetooth and cant seem to do it .
Any help would be ace

i assume you have the bluetooth hands free built into the car?

On your iPhone, go into Settings/General/Bluetooth. As long as your car ignition is on your iPhone will discover the car (it'll come up as Audi UHV etc) then connect, I can't remember what the passcode is but it should be in your manual

Cant wait to try this, i have a ipod video input into RNS-e so hope i can watch TV on RNS-e!

If this works will have just saved me loads from buying a TV tuner!

keep us updated on that is have input to my rns-e along with several inputs around the house. i find the iphone doesnt output everything you think it should

Have you not tried this freeview with your set up yet ? if it worked I was going to get an iphone AV lead and the same RNS-E interface that you have so I can have the TV in the car. Certainly cheaper than a stand alone DVB-T!

that would be so good if it worked, you can bet your bottom dollar it wont though, TV Catchup works through the Safari browser, so if that outputs then you're away!

If not then you could try EyeTV, you set it up on your PC at home and then stream it from your PC/Mac, it essentially give the same result on your iPhone as TV Catchup but with the added benefit of being able to watch recorded programs too, and it works from within an app rather than web based.

Only problem, the auto lock on they handset still happens, and it shuts it down so you need to turn off your auto lock.

awesome!! I must get myself a slice of that RNSe! Are you using a particular connection to your RNSe like the Alpine one that a lot of people go for?

Steve - Are you using an Genuine iphone AV cable or a copy ?

speedy im assuming hes using a genuine as i have a couple of copys and struggle with outputin certain things, i have found though that SOME aftermarket leads need a little cheat ! something to do with apple i heard ! anyway here it is red = audi white = audi yellow = video not in all cases if this fails then listen carefully to audio you might find sound only coming from one side, therefore replace the dead side with the yellow, this will give you audio left and right, the other now dead audio plug is now for video. just something i found out and it worked on one of my leads, so it might benefit someone .
