Hi peeps,

some of you may recall I went to BA for a trackday in November, here's the original thread: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?82273

It's a great track and perfect for the beginner as nearly the entire track has VAST run-off areas and those areas that don't still have decent run-offs anyway.

The full day costs £149 but there's a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more. The timings for the day can be seen here: http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home/event-details.aspx?productid=252

I just wanted to create the thread to gauge how many would be interested in this and to see if it's worth setting the group-buy up slightly closer to the time. I'm looking at the first weekend in June and I WILL be going no matter what, with my mate in his Scooby and another in his S2000.

It's time to put your cars and yourselves to the ultimate test

I am very interested in this. Am a track day noob so this could be my first one :)

I'd be interested, Leon. Only ever done trackdays on a bike so I'd like to give the car a go.

Ok two is a good start :icon_thumright:

I'm not that bothered about meeting the discount numbers, I'd just like to see some guys get on the track. I dragged a few young lads down to the 'Ring a couple of years ago and they were instantly hooked :rockwoot:

I am up for this for sure, i'll come in the S2000 as the A3 is pretty boring on the track, i'll try drag my mate with me who has a Cerbera.

Staz it may cost closer to £200 in June so about £179 with the discount, if its the either of the first 2 weekends i'd love to come its my birthday on the 7th so what a treat. I've been to Bedford several times now and there is no better or safer track for our road cars to play on. - Can't risk any later in June as my Son is due 30th June (ish).

Oh I see! Thanks for the heads up. It's still worth it though as it's a lorra laps :)

It's my Scooby mate's birthday at the start of June too so we're already calling it "Rob's birthday trackday" lol

Drop Iggu a PM and see if we can get him involved, if you get it up and running for a Saturday I'm pretty confident I can get 2 more as the Guys at Statller have expressed an interest with their Golf Edition 30 and Cupra K1, Lets do it, a proper ASN meet/track event.

I've sone the track day there through Palmer Sports as a corporate thing, but I have never tracked one of my own cars, I'm kind of in two minds about this, would love to, but worried about the downside...

And my birthday is the 5th! Who's bringing the cake?

It'll be a Saturday 100% mate

At the minute I'm just after an idea of numbers and hoping people will put it in their mental diary. When I set it up fully I'll get onto the VAGOC boys too :whistle2:

The downsides at BA are at the absolute minimum mate. You could spin off all day and not hit anything :racer:

I'd be interested, done Cadwell Park on a bike long time ago never tracked a car though.

Had a look at the link but it only shows evenings at Bedford, is that what your looking at booking?

Usual day runs from 9:30 (after safety briefing so arrival 08:00hrs), breaks for lunch for an hour between 12:30 - 13:30 then runs until around 16:30. Fantastic value, good restaurant/facilities and plenty of goodwilled banter, most importantly very safe and extrmely well run. The straight is massive and some of you will see 130mph + without too much effort. I spent a day there in lashing down rain in November in a BMW, suffice to say I spent the day spinning off, it was outrageous fun and the car was completely untouched, even the grass run offs are level with the track so no dig in. If you are really unsure track insurance can be arranged, works out at about £85 per £10,000 worth of cover, I took this out the first few times but wouldn't bother now.

Would love to go but i thinks its a bit too far for me. Such a shame.

Okay I called a few weeks ago to try and make a group booking for this trackday at Bedford Autodrome and it turns out they don't do weekend trackdays during the summer (at ANY of their 5 tracks) but they have a few evening sessions.

I have chatted with my mate and we're going to go for it on 2nd July, which is a Friday. Registration and briefings start at 1530 (they have more than one briefing in case you come a little later), time on the track is from 1730 to 2000 and it costs £119. It's not the best value for money but I want to get on the track ASAP.

I'm presuming there won't be many takers for this as it could be a long drive for a short event, plus work commitments etc....

Anyone fancy it?

A long way for an evening, have you tried some of the independants like circuit days/bookatrack as they often rent out Bedford, may be worth a look. Our baby is due on 1st July so that's me out :(

Did someone mention cake at a track day??? Mmmmhhhh! Would love to do this but bit too far for an evening, such a shame, but sure the ones who attend will have fun! I'm sooo jealous!

Shame they dont do weekends, I was egging myself up for it in the end! Evenings are a bit restrictive for me if it's Bedford i'm afraid Staz, but good call.

Cheers

Nick

Staz im only 20miles from Bedford so im very interested but how bad would a stock S-line TDI170 S-tronic be on a track? Cant decide whether its worth it or not..il probably need to spend lots of £ improving my car on the back of this :racer:

I had a quick look at bookatrack after your post but Bedford wasn't on their calendar. I'll have a proper look at both when I get a chance. I'm up for doing a different weekend somewhere else perhaps.

I might still get a cake. I like cake.

I had an A3 S-Line which I took on the 'ring with no bother mate. They don't handle as well as other cars you find there but that doesn't matter. It's all about you driving your car as hard and fast as you want and feel comfortable with. Someone at Bedford last year had a Mazda 6 which span out on almost every lap so I doubt you could do any worse! LOL
