Hi chaps,

Need a replacement hose as I found this in the engine bay perished!

code/part number ?
Where can I get one from?

Sorry for the poor quality picture, I am currently experiencing vcds error; 17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)

My first course of action would be replace then see if anything changes.....

Change that hose and also check the hose that goes from the charge pipe to the dv, is it boosting normal?

Sorry, I do not know the engine bay very well. Charge pipe???

No, the issue is intermittent sometimes I go into a limp mode but only briefly. Lags up to 3K RPM.

~Look at your dv and follow the pipes back from it :)

Thats the easiest way :~P

The hose you have pictured is off your pcv is it not?

Look at the post from sandip, check out the black disc shaped object far right hand side about half way down, has the four rings on it. that is your pcv, it is to do with enigne head/crankcase ventilation.

Fortunately or unfortunately that hose is not off the pcv

Have you got a picture that is not so close up?

The hose in the photo what's needs changing is from the breather to the air intake pipe, it's all part of the pcv system

oops, i thought the black round thing (in the top left of your pic) was the PCV (pressure control valve)

That is not the PCV. It is the PRV (Pressure Regulating Valve), or often referred to as the hockey puck. It is part of the PCV system however. It's job is to limit the airflow through it into the TIP (turbo intake pipe) when the turbo is boosting. i.e creating a vacuum in the TIP. Some info on it here:

The T-piece in this picture is the PCV, and is basically a non return valve, which prevents boost pressure from escaping the manifold and entering the crankcase and PCV system.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was in a similar situation to 'finesse' recently, and didn't know what things were, so thought this would help him. :icon_thumright:

It is of that, :faint::faint::faint:

thanks jester! what issues or errors came up when you had this problem?

Exactly the same error as you 17705, I changed the Pipe and it went however it came back. So I had another look about and found another split hose and replaced that. It went and now it is back again but IO haven't had time to sniff around the engine.

In terms of issues; I didn't experience anything major no loss of power etc - just check your oil I did but it never needed filling up.

Oh and when you change the clips on the hose have a couple of spare ones

One other thing - as you ahve found one split you will have a another one or two somewhere else. So when you get time have a good old rummage around all your hoses to make sure!

Least you've got an excuse to colour code your engine bay with some nice silicone or fit a oil catch can.

here you go buddy..
Took some time to find, but as you so kindly requested via PM.

You need number 20.
06a103817
cost = 10.4 euros.

i have replaced it with 19mm id pipe, think the oem might be slightly smaller maybe 17/18mm id, but 19mm works perfectly well. It's about 250mm long
