Has anyone got these fitted? Seen all the new bmw's with them fitted and look quite cool so fancy doing it too.

So anyone done it?

im going to after doin my sidelights, gives off much better light

I've got them fitted and they're much brighter than standard bulbs....although the MOT man didnt like them for some reason!. 5 minutes later they were changed, it passed and then changed back!. :p

how come he didnt like them? mines past 3 mot's with blown bulbs lol

No idea mate, think he was just being an **** to be fair as he had to get some planks out to get my car onto the ramps. I dont think that was a good start to things as he was huffing and puffing because my cars lowered. Still if I had a face like his I'd be ****** off too!.

I checked at work to make sure they're all legal and no one could tell me otherwise. I told him that I'd checked etc and he wasnt having any of it so I made a point of changing them in front of him and then changing them back once I had my certificate. He was perhaps the most uptight MOT man I have ever met..... I'll not be going back there again in May so he can grumble at me as he shuffles about the workshop scratching his ****.

Hows it goin Dan

I changed all lights on my car to xenon white. All of them purchased from Ultra Led's. They're pricey compared to Ebay but you will not be dissapointed with them! Quality is brilliant and does not bring up any dash errors. Here's the link for the ones i bought and are the correct size/colour. I took all my bulbs out in the car and measured them up so they all fit perfectly!

Those are the ones I have too, they make the road behind my car glow :)

jobsworth then
i took my 106gti to get motd and he made me top up the washer bottle b4 he would pass it he had the bonnet up and ajug of water behind him the whole time, he drove my car out after and made me do it.
ive got pressed plates so thought led bulbs would be better as there not as reflective as normal plates?

Yeah my lights look better on my metal plates rather than standard plastic ones as they do reflect better. But saying that, the led's are so bright they stand out nicely on plastic ones too!

Tom - i know what you mean about the glow, looks cool!

just ordered mine thanx jay

Eyup jay. Sound mate, you?

Well you k***ed two birds with one j*** there, lmao, was just about to ask where you got them from and what size.

Have you used these for the boot aswell? Is the boot lights even working yet?

They're great for boot lights too chaps so why not order 4 and do them too :) My stock boot lights were yellow, now its crisp and white :) (sad, but I like it!)

LOL yeah i'm good matey.

The inside boot ones are the same as the numberplate ones so just order 4 then. lol unfortunately i haven't seen the boot ones work yet as the boot mechanism thingy doesn't work! Damn it! :(

Nothing wrong with these come MOT time. Some MOT places are just ***** and come out with things like "your side lights are too xenon look". Yeah mate, that's why they're E marked.

I have these and they just added a better look to the rear. And my number plates have nothing to hide before the haters come in here with "why would you want to show off your number plate more" lol!

Yep, but check what ones you need for interior lights and puddle lights etc by taking the standard ones out and having a look at them.

mine got through fine.... Dani the 1 series was my inspiration too mate :)

only advice id give ya is that the cost seems to reflect the quality...i paid about £9 for mine IIRC and i went one size up and had to force them into the brackets....resulted in a wider light as the LED's tend to be very focussed and will light ya bumper up more than the actual plate

Its worth aiming them for sure, I tilted mine so the LED's are facing the plate and not shining straight down :)

just ordered 4.... i used this lot alot for prettys......i mean LEDS, been meaning to for weeks.

there gonna wonder why they suddenly had a mass order for numberplate lights!!

Do you have the link for the side light LEDs you've got? Would like to do mine (& test out all the stories of scarred hands from changing the side light bulbs in the process...)

I just order x 6..
Seen them on Ebay same ones, but a bit cheaper, so I got 6 for £24

Gonna try the boot option Tom said about, or even rear interior light, and maybe give my brother some for his E30.

Anyone got any pics to share? if not I'll put some up once I've fitted them.

I'm still waiting for pics :p

Ryan, I'll get some pics up but you might have to pop into spec savers. I thought your ride was black?

Just poped in thanks..

No probs Ryan:)

Thanks Sandip, looking good!

Thanks Ryan, Thanks Maz, it's an old picture, i got those led festoons a while back from ultraleds, alot brighter than the bmw and lexus ones:)

Personally I don't like them too bright and defiantly don't like them lighting up the road behind me as it just looks after market and it reminds me of the neon lights people used to fix to the underside.

I bought some ebay specials as the SMT type would be too bright for my liking and quite focused. I also tilted mine in a bit towards the plate rather than shining right down

has anyone got another link to ebay/ultraleds for the number plate leds please? the one above keeps saying product not found?

I fitted these last night. Look good and took about 5mins to fit on both sides. Well worth the cheap mod. Depends on what you like, the light does reach to the floor I've tilted mine ever so slightly but still shine to the ground funnily enough Il see how it goes for a few days and tilt more if necessary.
The ebay seller is good, dispatches and received within 2 days for me too. > Incase people wondered.

Off to clean the car now!

I fitted some just before xmas on my rear number plates, but one of them has gone already, however it looks as if its loose, as when you press on the actual LED it comes back on, but only temporarily.

Looking to get some more soon though, may even go the whole hog and get some for the boot too and for the interior lights.

To do the internal ones, eg front and back seats, is it just another 4 that are required????

HERES MINE... Glare on the floor tales some getting used too..

done my boot and interior too.... note to all... the main interior feston size is biggr than the numberplate bulbs. i how ever just pushed the metal bits closer to each other!! fitting footwell lighs as soon as i get some spare time.

I'm on the look out for some LED baynet type ones so I can do the reading lights in the front and back (x 4, the little square ones) as they look very yellow against the led ones in the big light at the front.

Anyone seen any?

i just took mine out! lol you got rear map lights? i only got the 2 on the front
