Made a thread not so long ago about my revs sticking. Cut a long story short i found out that it was the throttle body that needed cleaning. Ive had some time on my hands today and cleaned it, however i did read something about it needing resetting into place.

Can someone please tell me how to do it, By the way i dont have Vag Com

Thanks in advance

disconnect the battery for a bit. once reconnected, turn the key onto ignition, stand by the TB and wait for it to stop making a noise. then turn the car over.

it has worked for me on both Audis i have ever owned. my car runs perfectly now without stalling since i cleaned the TB out.

right ive done that but now its extremely juddery and has a wine thats constantly there... Is this normal??

what you mean juddery? revs up and down?

did you take off the TB to clean it or just clean the bit you can see? there will be lots of crap behind it.
How long did you leave battery off for?

if you have half cleaned it it could be worse than before (talking from experience) if the tb is not closing properly because you have not cleaned it fully, it will not be closed properly, and therefore run like shat.

I would leave it running for a bit so the ECU can work out whats going on. This method has never failed me. Of corse people will want you to think it dont work. thats how people make money out of you. Audi ECU`s learn and adjust do they not?

i will defend this till im blue in the face!! lol its ALWAYS worked on both my Audis, shown to me by other ASN members also! Im sure no 1 will defend me tho in the True ASN way!

the car sound like it is about to stall. or a sort of misfire. should i just let it run. its more of the wine that sounds like its causing damage.

dunno what the wine is mate, can you get a vid of it? what else have you done to the car?

Did you take the TB off to cleen it or do it on the car?

erm.. i took the whole thing off to clean it and im certain that everything has been put back on properly, maybe its just another problem. I will just let it run probably tomorrow when i have time and hope it sorts itself out
Thanks alot mate, much appreciated.

no problem. just be sure there is no grub left on the edge of the throttle plate. thats all it took on one of my attempts years ago as it was not closing properly and was sticking.
shiney shiney FTW

When I had my remap my idle used to be up and down so Midland said to clean the throttle body out. I didnt even take it off the car, just popped the hose off, held it open and sprayed in a load of carb cleaner. Out poured a shed load of filthy black gunk so I repeated it a few more times till it was clear.

I had no problems with mine after that although mine has a throttle cable on it if that matters?. It took a few seconds to work itself out and was back to normal, no realignment issues here?

My money is on something else but you really need to vagcom it to get a specific answer or you'll be fault finding for weeks.
