More S3 Drama

I only just saw this - its my garage believe it or not, we had it all kitted out with the old kitchen units. Better than just lobbing them, and it's a handy place to keep all my kit! :)

My dad did this too...

Say hello to day-glo orange garage cabinets! (better than still having them in the kitchen)

when do we find out about the test drive?!

I won't be going out till about 8 tonight, I've got the little one tonight which means I'll have to sort her out before anything else. I love the car lol, but she comes first!

Good luck Welly! I guess it'll be difficult to tell how the new intercooler has affected the performance :)

You've had 28 minutes now Welly, come on mate, play fair. that's easily enough time to have tested it, locked the garage up, and posted on here to let us know how it went.....

lmao i dont know whos more anxious here, welly or us lot

c'mon mate put us all out of our (and your) misery :)

yeah, its nearly nine o'clock, this is just selfish of Welly not to update us, after all the pain we've gone through reading about his nightmare! I feel abandoned

I really hope it is that Mark and he's not enjoing waiting for the RAC to arrive!

ha, at this moment in time 9 members viewing thread to see results, posibbly clicking refresh every 10 seconds?

I have also been following this... if it goes wrong again its gota be some kind of record...

sure all will be fine, shame you just cant give it a thrash to punish it

One word.. WOW!:respekt: I've done similar things to silly fords but i'd be nervous to do this to a forced induction engine. AMAZING thread welly! Well done! .. Bit of advice though.. GET A GOD DAMN IPHONE AND UPDATE US! I've been here for 2 hours reading this and showing my dad the pics. Even he's amazed!! I did this to my mums escort where all the inlet valves bent, fixed it, timed it wrong, bend the shizzles again.. woopsie! Got a new block at the end and built her back up only for some old lady to smash into my mother on ansty road in coventry. Same with my fiesta.. but thats still alive! Anyways come on, stop being selfish and let us know whats going on... :) This is one story im gonna read to my kids as a bedtime story..

Sorry for the delay all..... Bit of drama to start with. Oil pressure warning came back on. We've traced the issue to a faulty plug on the oil pressure sensor - it was melted ?!. Anyway - inlet manifold off and all the stuff out of the way to change. Did that. Just got back from a 10 (yes 10) mile journey.

AND IT ONLY WORKS!

:)

A bit smoky to start with unsuprisingly, but that seems to have started to clear already.

Not out of the woods yet, but the relief, joy, happiness, and relief again is great. I've locked it up now for the night, and I am going to have a few beers.

I'll keep posting progress, need to do some logging etc on Sunday - going to go for a long spin to test.

Just wanted to thank you all for your support through this extremely challenging time, especially my good mate Jonny who put as many hours in as I did, and Bill and Tuffty for constant advice and guidance... I'll stop phoning you now Bill (maybe).

For words. Thank f*ck for that! :icon_thumright:

Thats great news fella, about time something came good out of all the sh*t luck you've had up to yet, fingers crossed for you mate.

Nicely done Welly, plenty of people would have given up with all the crap thats happened with it.

I'm sure the smoke will clear itself up, just a case of burning a bit of residue of with a bit of luck :)

They always happen on the Ansty Road for some reason!

Yeah, its the turnings in the central part of the road, people misjudge and just turn into the road.

great to hear that you have had some good progress..... im sure when your car starts next it will be working as if it had just come out of the factory...:icon_thumright:

Lets hope so!

Just took it out for a nice gentle 50 mile drive. The aux tensioner is making a din and needs replacing, but other than that all was well. :).

Will take the laptop out with it tomorrow night and do a bit of logging to find out whats going on. Its makes me laugh because it's teasing me, I can hear it spool up and it's drying to be hurt! lol.

A couple of photos of the final product (the intercooler that is):
