apart from the body kit does anyone know if the cars are identical, i.e suspension, gearbox..................................

No they are not identical.

S-line has 20mm lowered sports suspension and other things which i cant remember.

so re you saying s-line has lower suspension than se and dtm?

Dazmo's not read your question properly.

Yes, the S-Line Special Edition is exactly the same as the DTM apart from cosmetic changes inside & out... i.e. same engine, brakes, suspension, etc.

i was told that the dampers were upgraded in line with the suspension, also (not being an expert) the se and dtm have uprated s-line suspension?

There were a few specs for the B7 A4:

SE which is technically the base model
S-Line - (an optional upgrade including lowered, uprated suspension)
S-Line Special Edition
DTM

Quattro was an option on all models, and standard on the DTM.

The DTM was based on the highest spec model of the main A4 line, which was the 2.0T Quattro S-Line Special Edition.

Then you have the S4 and RS4 of course.

still doesnt answer my question re dampers and suspension m8

not so im told by vagtech...................

the dtm and se have an upgraded version of the s-line dampers and suspension, also they mentioned the dtm had a 60/40 split front to rear!?:weight_lift2:

One thing I Know for sure is that the DTM defo hasn't got the T-3 Torsen quattro with the 60/40, The only B7s to get this were S4 & RS4 where the rest had T-2 50/50.

The suspension I'm not sure about, its defo listed as 20mm lower but weather thats next to an S-line or not I don't know, I doubt it though. Most would asume its the same as the S-line SE but as the DTM is a quattro GMBH built car & the S-line isn't they would have most probably tweaked it, the overall ride hight might be the same but shock/spring rates may differ.

Cheers Ewan.

Somthing else worth noting if your on the hunt for info on the DTM, the US was based on an S4 & called the S4 25 quattro, not a 2.0Tfsi like ours as the yanks would have never taken to a quattro special edition with a mere 4 cylinders. Now that I think about it rightly so, not saying the DTM isn't a good car but to celebrate the 25th anivesary of quattro they could have pushed the boat a bit more.

Whoever vagtech is, or whoever talked to you from vagtech is talking ballcocks. The SE has standard suspension. The s-line is lowered 20mm and stiffened. The special edition and DTM have s-line suspension. The s-line suspension package was available on an SE as an extra cost option.

Theres loads of info throughout all this forum and the differences between DTMs, Special editions and s-lines.

hazey, the se is for special edition, the special edition has same set up as dtm..........................

the dtm has uprated s-line suspension as per the origional release details. i just wanted to know the actual difference, it certainly isnt the same as an s-line....................... had an 08 s-line cab and the ride is a lot firmer in the dtm.

vagtech actually advertise on this site:respekt:

biggied..........

i have seen info on the s4 with dtm kit before. the americans used the kit well after the uk dtm edition, the uk version was in celebration of winning the german touring car season.

after having my power run, 314 ft/pd at 3k and 287 bhp at 6900 i think the car should have come out of the box like this!:weight_lift2:
