yep i got them from the same guy though just for got i looked at the blue ones first lol

Hi
I've just tried a couple of these as replacement sidelight bulbs...but even tho the blurb said they wouldn't give DNS errors...suffice to say they did and all they did was flash on and off all the time...should I be looking for a particular type?

i had this problem aswell the sidelights just flashed .i just gave up and stuck with regular bulbs .would be intresting to know wether it was the bulbs or just my car didn.t like the led's

im thinking and hoping i dont get any problems as my DNS dont show if i have a light out so may not pick up the leds.
if they flash im thinking i should have got the blue ones lol would come in handy hahahaha

I've linked to these plenty of times before, I know J7USS had a bad experience with the seller, but everyone else who has used them have found them error free as far as I know, and they now come in a 15 led version too. I have the 9's and rate them very highly.

well if the ones i have mess around ill buy some of the ones you have james.
are they hard to fit hoping i dont need to take the hole unit out

If you can fit the other ones without taking the light out then you will be able to do the same with these, personally I can't fit my hand down the back of the light so find it easier just to take them out.

ahhhh ill get my 11 year old son to do it lol

I tried the 4 led directional (ie just ahead) ones and the 5 led all round ones...they both flashed...I eventiually got some 'normal' LED 501...mad a good rather than big difference!

Then you're probably ok....my flashers were the LED diode bulbs rather than a 'normal' bulb filament etc.

Its not the fitment type that makes a difference whether the LED's flash on & off, its whether they have resistors built into them. The ones that James linked to have resistors built into so they don't throw errors up on the DIS or flash on & off.
When you are searching for sidelight LED's on eBay add 'No Errors' in the search box so it lists the ones that have resistors built in.

I have bought a couple of the 9 LED type that James linked to but they are too blue to match my 4300k xenons, they will match 6000k perfectly.

Heres a few pics of the colour differences between standard filament bulbs, blue filament bulbs and then 9 LED sidelights.

Nice pics mate, they capture the different colours really well :icon_thumright:

that they do im really hoping the ones i have coming are not going to flash ;-(

Tell you what...

I've got some 5 led versions with 4 LEDs around the stem and 1 at the end, pointing forwards.
Ive just tried them in the boot and footwell bulb holders and they fit well...The holders will take the 9 led version but not the 15's as they're too long.

I bet the interior lighting (footwells and boot) would look really cool with 9's in, esp the boot which is a bit feeble considering its size!

Worth a try!!

i've got 15 LED towers in and also think they are too blue for my k4300 what about blue filament bulbs do they match better? can you put a link where did you get them? ohh and then i put the ignition on my towers blinks four times does anyone else expirience this?
